    Summary

Every Link in the Chain dons a tunic as part of who they are. But not every tunic is created equal, and some hold significance that can't be so easily discerned at a glance.

Some heroes take pride in their traditional tunics. But Legend wears his red mail for the properties it grants him, while Wind resents the tradition of old altogether. Some tunics can't be worn because of the weaknesses built into them. And others, still, wear their hero garb for more personal reasons that come to light during an emergency laundry day.

An exploration of the different tunics across the series.

    Summary

If Wild was bothered by his tone, then Legend didn’t see it, too focused was he on the distant spit of land. “That’s Eventide Island. I had a difficult shrine quest there once before. It’s the largest island I have on my map. I guess you wouldn’t have seen it last time when it was storming, huh?”
Fishing boats groaned in protest as they were knocked against the docks. The wind picked up, blowing out towards the island and pulling at Legend’s clothes. There was a voice in there somewhere, he could feel it. All because…
“The Egg hatched.” His words escaped him as a thin, awestruck rasp, barely audible over the sounds of the waves. That was supposed to be the end of it, right? Once the Egg hatched, and he vanquished the nightmares that had been keeping the Wind Fish from waking up, then it'd be over. The image of Koholint Island vanishing like the dream it was supposed to be was permanently seared into his mind.
Only it wasn’t gone. It was here, after so much time spent chasing the unreal. And it was waiting for him.

    OR

Legend discovers Eventide Island, the spitting image of Koholint. And he'll do anything to wake the Wind Fish again.

    Summary

To his left, Hyrule was healing a scar on Legend’s arm. Further along the campfire, Wild was scrolling through his Sheikah Slate, combing over his inventory, while Wind peered over his shoulder every so often, appearing bored. Across from him, Warriors and Four were mending tunics and wiping down armor of the sickly black blood. Sky looked about ready to fall asleep, even though stars were only just beginning to appear above them. And to his right, Twilight stared absently into the fire, quietly humming a tune that Time didn’t recognize but knew his descendant was particularly fond of.
    Now there was an idea.
Time reached into the small drawstring pouch he always kept at his side and pulled out an ocarina, barely able to contain himself. “Everyone’s being awfully quiet; why not we play some music?”
He received a couple of confused stares. But for the others, the response was immediate. A ripple passed through the gathered heroes as they reached for their instruments.

    OR

The Chain gathers around for an evening of sharing instruments and songs with Time. And Wild doesn't know what to make of it.

    Summary

When Wild woke up, he was a bit more embarrassed. He usually slept further away from the others, at least at first, since they’d joined while everyone else had already been marginally more acquainted with each other. Now he was in the middle of camp while everyone else was starting to mill around. His checks flushed light pink and he hastily pushed himself into a sitting position, hand lingering in his dark gray fur for only an extra moment before distancing himself.

“I got cold,” Wild mumbled, a feeble excuse that fell on deaf ears as everyone began packing up around them.

Twilight tilted his head quizzically to the side. He’d seen the boy sleep in his snowquill armor before.

Wild hastily got to his feet and began gathering his blankets to throw into his Sheikah slate. “Don’t look at me like that! Why’re you still transformed, anyway?” he said, almost accusatory.

    OR

Twilight finds out that if he falls asleep as a wolf then members of the Chain will start using him as a pillow.

    Summary

    "Who's there?"

"Me.", says the unhelping voice, and I point the master sword towards where I heard them, but she...burns me?

I accidently drop her as she does, and I silently curse as I quick grab her again, not wanting to be defenseless for any longer than necessary.

"Just saying me doesn't help, dipshit!"

    Or

Legend was different from the other heroes, but not in just the personality or the fact that he's royalty. No, because of an entirely different reason.

    His blindfold.
