Summary
Everyone would agree that the end of the world is just about the most inconvenient time to discover you're in love with someone. When deadly monsters surface on St. Marie, Richard Poole leads a group of survivors to a part of the island where the creatures don't go. Weary under his burden of leadership, he must struggle to keep everyone safe from the looming threat of these monsters that could rise up from the ground at any time. And while he's at it, it would be lovely if he could also convince his heart to stop aching for the detective sergeant who plagues his every thought.
