There are no windows in the Skydome’s cramped detention room so nobody gets the moment that Jay’s nose starts bleeding, dripping heavily into his lap. His hands are still cuffed behind his back. He tries to wipe the blood off on his shoulder and succeeds in smearing it across his lips, over his left cheek. It keeps dripping like a leaky faucet.

Matt simply stares at her. Instinctually, she wants to somehow find a way to worm out of this conversation, find a way to one-up Jay again with lies just for the hell of it — just to shut her up. But, not only does she realize she’s managed to talk herself into a corner, she also kind of doesn’t care anymore because Jay’s attention has shifted away from Mr. Wonderful and on to Matt.
