Summary
“Have you ever wondered about me?”The answer of ‘always’ stays stuck in Beomgyu's throat. He keeps it there knowing nothing good will come if he lets it float out of his mouth and towards Soobin who stays waiting. “Not really,” He says instead. It comes with a light short laugh like he wants their air tension to dissipate, “never.” It’s quiet. Unbelievable and most of all coils with regret because Beomgyu has to even ball up his fist to get enough strength to spit it out, only for it to dangle off his tongue through a failed attempt of a wavering whisper.
A retort from the taller male doesn’t arrive straightaway. He only staggers and continues to go down the flight of steps, with light feet and slow like he’s waiting for Beomgyu to follow him.
“Aren’t you going to ask if I did?”tldr; Beomgyu bumps into Soobin when he pays his hometown a visits. In between his cold facade of pretending like his heart doesn't race the pace as it used to when they were younger, Beomgyu finds himself back in the arms of the elder's embrace. But not for too long. Not when now the space between Soobin's arms isn't for Beomgyu anymore.

Summary
There is a whirlpool in Beomgyu’s gaze when he looks at him, softening even more around the edges.
It’s all the love he has for Soobin. They’ve touched each other with it, body and soul, but it still isn’t enough, wasn’t enough when he was holding him down with his body before a show at Chicago, wasn’t enough when his hand was clutched in his when he took Beomgyu apart for the first time, wasn’t enough when he held on fast before Beomgyu left for Daegu the first time after the hiatus began.
It will never be enough maybe, but they’ll keep trying.
It’s all they’ve had for a long time, diaphanous hope and quickly-dwindling time.
Or, Tomorrow X Together is on hiatus, and Daegu is too far from Seoul, but maybe being in love is about closing the distance.
