“The House Cup. It’s official—they’re letting hedges compete.”
“Wow.” He doesn’t know why this seems to knock the wind out of him. It’s not as if he didn’t know this was coming. Can hardly forget an event that only occurs every twenty-one years. An event that at three-years-old was probably his first real memory. One of his only memories of, well, before. “That’s great, Lily…”
“It is. It really is." She smiles to herself. “Because we are going to wipe the floor with those prissy, gatekeeping, ‘classically trained’ wizards.”

Summary
Remus’s world has been silent ever since he’d lost his hearing in an accident at age five. Life might be easier if anyone around him could sign, but in the small village he was stuck in, even his father had never made an effort to learn. So, Remus lived in quiet isolation, caring for a man who could barely communicate with, an a head full of thoughts he can never fully share.
Then a reckless driver nearly runs him off the road, and suddenly, that same stranger keeps showing up in Remus's dull life everywhere he looked. He’s frustratingly attractive, unexpectedly kind, and, to Remus’s surprise, even starts learning sign language. It feels like someone is finally listening.
But he was only doing this because he felt guilty for nearly running Remus over… right?

Final exams, confusing late night library excursions, gratuitous chocolate eating…
But they’re just friends, right?

The joy of watching Remus speak is more than subversion from his upbringing – the moments when Sirius can do it like this (undisturbed and unnoticed)? They rebuild something in him he thought irreparably broken. He wants to fall asleep to it, make a cassette and listen to it on repeat, pretend he’s struggling with the material just to have Remus read to him.

Summary
It’s a Friday afternoon. On Fridays, Sirius goes to the pub with his friend James. James sometimes brings his wife along, and sometimes just countless pictures of his son. Sirius sees the kid at least twice a week but still he looks at each photo as if it were a great treasure.
Remus goes in fifteen minutes after them, sometimes half an hour. Sometimes he doesn’t go in at all and sits in his car instead, waiting for the bartender to call last orders. Twice he felt brave and sent a drink to Sirius’ table, but left before it was delivered. Both times the bartender told him the same: this is a pub, mate. You want to talk to him, go talk to him, I ain’t doing table service.

Summary
It’s been a little over a year since Sirius had kissed him for the first time on Halloween, crowding him up against the counter, whispering ‘Hey, you’ in his ear, breath warm with alcohol. A little over a year since Remus had tried half-heartedly to push him away, whispering, ‘I don’t think this is a good idea.’ To which Sirius had said, ‘Give me one reason why not,’ and Remus had stood there unable to say, ‘Because I'm in love with you, because I’m scared of what that love may do to me,’ and unable to come up with anything else, choking on a couple years worth of unsaid words, and so he’d just let it happen, more than just let it happen. It’s been three years since the boy across the hall had knocked on his dorm door to introduce himself, posh accent, ironed-down shirt, lithe, clever fingers pushing long black hair from his face before extending his hand out in offering. Three years since Remus had stared down at that hand, a bit bewildered, before reaching out to grasp it and Sirius had smiled up at him, butterscotch sweet, and his hand had been soft and warm and Remus hadn’t wanted him to let go. The feeling has never gone away.

Summary
After learning he was dying, James Potter planned his funeral the only way he knew how. A mix of mischief, chaos, and truly terrible singing. As Sirius, Remus and Peter return to their hometown to say goodbye, they find themselves swept into a journey of James’s carefully crafted memories.
For Harry, it’s a chance to see his father through the eyes of those who loved him just as fiercely. For Lily, it’s a lesson in how grief and forgiveness can intertwine. And for Remus and Sirius, the funeral brings them back to where they first began dancing around one another.Or

Summary
In the aftermath of the Battle of Hogwarts, Remus is raising Teddy as a single dad, providing Harry with the loving home he never had as a child, and adjusting to life now that the shadow of war no longer looms over it. But soon Remus is plagued by strange dreams and bouts of memory loss, and everywhere he turns, he sees the face of the man he’d loved in secret and lost years ago.
When Harry starts to experience the same symptoms, it’s clear that something must be done. But what Remus doesn’t expect is to be given the chance to bring Sirius back from beyond the Veil—and to be forced to grapple once more with the feelings he’s kept buried for twenty years.

Summary
When Hermione Jean Granger was one year old her parents died in a car crash. She knew all about it because she asked a lot of questions and her aunt and uncle believed in answering them.
Why is the sky blue, auntie? Why are b's and d's like in the mirror? Where do songs come from? Why did Jenny Hopkins call me a--?
Her father had accelerated into a green light, like you were supposed to. (By the time she was eight, Hermione had the driver's rulebook memorized). A truck driver, going the opposite way, hadn't stopped at a red.
Hermione had been strapped in a car seat in the back, her aunt and uncle told her. She hadn't been hurt at all except for the scar that stood out, jagged, on her forehead.
As Hermione grew up into a gangly, bushy-haired, buck-toothed wonder, she thought she could remember it-- a glaring green light, a rush of cold air.

But they knew each other in 1982, back at university, they knew each other quite well, so why are they pretending they don’t have history?
He’s not quite sure what’s going on between them, what they’re doing, what this tightrope they’re walking is. He’s not sure it’s a good idea.

Summary
There's something blazingly incongruous about Remus in the wintertime. He's golden: sunshine and honeybees, caramel curls and freckles like dappled sunlight. Even his clothes seem borrowed, and temporary, as if he might've just thrown on an extra layer for a moment in the knowledge that his own innate aestival nature would be quite enough to stave off the worst of the chill. Something at home in long balmy nights, and mornings when the gardens teem with life and song. Wonderfully out of place in the winter: a happy visitor to the season, an ember in the frost.
Christmastime in the Cotswolds: cold hands, crackling fires, and Remus's indefatigable quest for parsnips.

Summary
“I don’t get it,” Sirius says truthfully. “Remus is such a nice person, why does everyone pretend like he’s some kind of wicked stepmother?”
James laughs joyfully and winks at Sirius. “Are we even talking about the same person?” He holds out his hand above his head. “Big guy, about this tall, curly hair? Temper like a sleeping dragon? Smart, but a bit full of himself? Can kill you with his eyes?”
Sirius raises his eyebrows and laughs as well. “No, I don’t think we are talking about the same person at all.”
A love story about healing, new beginnings and growing up. Academia! Romance! Shared cigarettes, cute cats, lots of coffee and the most amorous business trip you have ever seen.

Summary
A shiver trembles through Sirius, racing up his spine, and he blames the crisp air. Remus leans closer, and his lips are parting-- and Sirius shrieks as a chunk of wet, numbing snow is rubbed into his cheek. He squirms beneath him, twisting his head away, but Remus only presses him harder into the glacial ground.
When Remus sits back, Sirius glowers darkly, using his freed arm to wipe his face with his sleeve. He can't quite remember how to breathe, and Remus is still over him, their legs tangled and bent at odd angles.
"You were a lot nicer to me when you were sick." Sirius says.
"I was weak." Remus smiles, and the warmth from his body fades as he gets to his feet. "Don't get used to it."
Of pub quizzes, old films, Chinese takeaways, broken arms, and impassioned discussions of literature: Remus is confusing, and Sirius is just trying to figure him out.
