Putting a free fist to her chest and clearing her throat, Miu widely grinned as she answered, "Something toootally bootilicious," she hugged the huge box closer to herself, "that this gorgeous genius has cooked up over the past one-fucking-thousand weeks!"
A year had only fifty-two weeks. A scientist like Miu should have known that.
The blonde set the box on the ground with a definitive thump, dusting off her hands with a smug look. Something cluttered around in there as soon as the box carrying it hit the hardwood floor.
Maki let out a breath, shoulders visibly sagging while her expression didn't budge a single bit. "....you can tell me what it is, you know?"
She could almost see the mushrooms growing out of the shaking Miu's head. Her hands visibly clutched at the bottom of her red sweater.

”…uh, hey Sunny…” chuckled Basil quietly, turning his head a little. His smile wobbled, fingers playing with the folds of his collar. “Sorry for…just running out like that. I think it was just the lunch today that made me uh….” He gave Sunny a look, hoping he’d get it.
“That was before lunch,” Sunny deadpanned back, blinking. A long silence followed his words. Basil looking so taken aback didn’t make it any less awkward.
”O-Oh, right.” Basil wrapped his hands tentatively around his knees, eyes boring into the grass below. “Sorry, I forgot. Um, it was…breakfast actually.”
”Mmhmm.”

Aubrey noticed how Sunny’s eyes flickered as she looked her up and down, immediately sparkling brightly as she recognized her face. Sometimes Sunny would be too spaced out to register fully what was happening, and what happened just now was one of those moments.
”Aubssss!!!” Sunny shouted - well, not really, since at least she didn’t wake up the whole neighborhood with her voice - then with a concerningly wide grin distorting her features, she reached out an arm, linked it around Aubrey’s, making her nearly fall against the smaller girl as she dragged her into the depths of her house.

Would the others even take the hot chocolate? He picked up the packet slowly. They were busy having fun with each other and decorating the special Christmas cookies Mari had made - not her trademark cookies, just ones for decorating - so they probably didn’t want to deal with Hero himself at all.
It was also something way less complicated than his usual recipes that he was preparing right now, so maybe they wouldn't be interested....
The packet tilted and spilt the powder all into the cup of hot water, making Hero jump backwards, his eyes widening like a water stain expands on cloth. Unfortunately, the nearly inaudible yelp of surprise didn't go unheard by the other three.
"Huh? 'S there a spider?" Kel asked, with a slightly amused look on his face before he saw empty powder packet flat next to Hero’s cup on the table's surface. His face then lit up in realization. "Whoa. You used it all up?!"

Aubrey’s eyes met Sunny’s, her expression unusually plain as she even staggered a little backwards away from the shorter girl.
"Who— oh." Almost as soon as Sunny had seen the girl in the doorway, Mari came rushing out of the kitchen while holding a....whisking tool? A whisker? What was she even planning to do with it— "Aubrey!" She hid the utensil behind her back, her head tilted with a smile again almost immediately. With how obnoxiously bright her sweater was, one wouldn't have even noticed the whisking tool in the first place.
