“They won’t care. They’ll think it’s sweet. Besides – I don’t want to do this alone. It’s kind of a waste. The entire time I’ve been thinking “this could be so much fun if Dan was here”.
That’s what did it. That’s what would always do it, in possibly every universe. Even after sixteen years, being wanted just hit a weak spot in Dan he couldn’t win against.
Phil gets lonely, Dan gets freaked out, and they cancel the challenge.
