Summary
Sam doesn't know what he's expecting to happen after Lilith's death. An overwhelming sense of satisfaction, maybe? The ability to look his brother in the eye and say "I did the right thing, I stopped a monster," and actually mean it?
Or maybe he doesn't expect anything. Maybe past the bravado and stubborn determination he doesn't actually want to come out the other end alive. Just wants a big showdown where he can make someone else feel as fucked up as he does.
Regardless, the absolute last thing he could have expected was for Lilith's death to be a bad thing. To be the straw that broke the camels back. But he's going to work with it, he's going to get the hell out of dodge and find a new normal.
Then again, can anything really be normal after you find yourself sharing a body with the devil?

“Talia was just telling me an interesting story,” his dad informed him. Stiles didn’t have the nerve to glance over at him, because he knew no matter how much he argued, the proof was all there. The wolves had found him, Parrish had picked him up on the side of the road, he had a fucking picture on his phone. He was screwed. No point in arguing, all it’d do is piss his father off even more.
“You don’t say,” Stiles offered slowly. “What uh—you know, I like stories. Is it a uh, good one?”
“It seems to be a matter of opinion,” Talia said with another kind smile. “I hear you had quite the night last night.”
Okay, time to cut his losses. He was already fucked, all he could do was apologize and hope she didn’t press for him to get fined and arrested. Given he was her husband’s friend’s son, he had high hopes.
“I’m really sorry,” Stiles blurted out. “It was stupid and-and irresponsible and just—I am so sorry. I shouldn’t have crossed into your territory. I should’ve known better, I do know better! It was a complete lapse in judgement and I am just—I am so sorry.”

Scott made a strange, whiny noise at the back of his throat that made him sound a little like a kicked puppy. “Your scent.” He pulled on Stiles’s hoodie until their noses were practically touching.
“Scott, buddy, you’re going to have to be more specific.” Stiles rubbed a circle on the back of Scott’s hand with his thumb. “You know I don’t have werewolf senses.”
“You smell like… like…” Scott fumbled for words, his brow furrowed deeply. His eyes started to look a little wet, and that was something Stiles could not deal with.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay. I’m okay. Just tell me what’s wrong and we’ll fix it. I’ll—I dunno—shower really good, I promise.”
“You smell like something claimed you,” Scott finally said in a horrified whisper.

After Derek loses his second pack he flees, and all of Beacon Hills is left with only two young and inexperienced werewolves: Scott and Isaac. Even counting Stiles they are barely a pack at all. Nine months later and two weeks into the boys senior year a new threat emerges that puts everyone in danger. Stiles is determined to seek help knowing that they are particularly vulnerable without a real Alpha.
But getting Derek and Scott to work together is nigh impossible. And for some weird reason Isaac is convinced that Stiles and Derek are secretly together and keeps trying to offer his support behind Scott's back. However, someone has to keep tabs on their resident sourwolf, and Stiles knows no one else is lining up for the job. In which, Derek and Stiles are already pretty coupley long before either of them realize it.
