Her lips curled up into a Cheshire Cat smile. “What’s your name?” she asked again. “My name’s Lizzie.”
Joel bristled at her casual introduction. Skizz used that trick too—a way to unnerve prey, as if she was sure he wouldn’t live to repeat it. That same eerie sensation crept up his spine. A warning, raw and unrestrained.
The subtle threat jolted him into self-preservation, even as his muddled mind struggled to comprehend it. Joel scrambled to reclaim some semblance of a grip on the situation.
He squared his shoulders and, as firmly as he could, said, “Joel.”
Joel, a notorious vampire hunter known for his tenacity and ruthlessness, finally meets the one vampire he can't quite seem to kill.

Summary
The sound of footsteps against hollow, creaky wood draws her out of her thoughts. She immediately recognizes the sound coming from her front porch.
"Silena?" Annabeth calls, poking her head inside the Aphrodite cabin.
Silena lowers the fashion catalog in her hands. "Hey, Annabeth, come in."
She closes her magazine, tossing it aside as she gestures for Annabeth to take a seat on her bed.
"What's up, girl?" Silena questions.
There's an odd look on her face, almost anxious. Silena recognizes it. It's the look of Annabeth swallowing her pride and asking for help, allowing herself to be even slightly vulnerable for a moment, which she hates.
"Can you teach me how to paint my nails?"
Annabeth, for all her seemingly infinite intelligence, is not great at the whole “girl thing.” Silena is happy to help. As the world’s biggest Percabeth shipper, however, she has to ask a question or two.

The clock hasn’t moved. Dipper sits up abruptly, his heart beginning to race. He looks to cat wall clock on Mabel’s side. It’s stopped ticking; its tail and brightly colored eyes no longer shifting from side to side. When had that happened? Something is wrong.
Suddenly, everything shifts. He recognizes the feeling before he can mentally label it. The world drains into to the monotonous void of his subconscious. Everything is spinning.
He hears that laugh ring in his ears.
“Bill.” Dipper growls, “Come out, I know you’re here.”

The pad of Simon’s thumb roved over his cheekbone thoughtfully. Then, “Would you like to go down? Do you think that would help?” he asked.
Grace hesitated for a moment, eyes flitting between Simon’s face and the empty space over his left shoulder. “I… yeah. Um. Maybe that would… help. I think that would help.”
Inspired by the filament station discord discussing how Grace can sometimes suffer from problamatic levels of hyperfixation. combine that with his known oral fixation and Simon's need to take care of the man who takes care of him and, well. very sweet cockwarming ensues.

Summary
It was easy to command the Petrova Taskforce, that small world Eva Stratt had curated, and yet the wider world still needed to be accommodated, placated, until the work was done. Public perception was an important aspect of the project at large. Hers was waning, unless the press could speculate instead about her personal life rather than the world-ending choices in her hands. Attending an arts and culture gala was the least inconvenient option she'd been presented with.
The boundaries of her selfishness were shaped by what she allowed herself to ask of Ryland Grace. As long as what they had helped her do her job— and it did, he did, she could not deny it— she could pretend, she could avoid admitting that this undefined thing meant something more than she'd intended.
Her responsibility to the world had a penchant for forcing her hand.
