Summary
The solitude is what truly scared her. It scares her still. Presses on her chest until she can't breathe. It leadens her limbs, phantom pains reminding her of the endless nights she spent at the bottom of every bottle. The sorry little box spring she called a bed rigid but familiar.
It's all so stark from the satin or bamboo silk that caresses her skin now. The soft luxury not a shield from the memories but it's becoming a comfort for the nights where she wakes in a cold sweat, the room fuzzy around the edges so her mind almost gets away with the trick. That she's back down there, or she wakes with the smell of blood in her nose, the crimson smattered and oozing from an eye that will never see again. That is, until she takes a full breath, hand blindly reaching out until she touches smooth warmth–
Sometimes, the depths of her own affections frightens her. How she wishes to crawl inside this woman's skin, nestle herself behind her ribs. Call that place home as long as she's allowed.
She makes do with burying her nose in Caitlyn's hair, both arms wrapping around her until there isn't a part of their bodies not touching.
She's right here. Alive. Yours.
"Breathe, love."

Summary
As Caitlyn approached the archway, she was intercepted by a shorter woman with a shock of pink hair. They slammed into each other face-first; Caitlyn’s chin clipped her forehead, and she bit her tongue.
They bounced apart, the pink-haired woman holding a hand to her forehead and Caitlyn mumbling a curse under her breath.
“Watch where you’re going, will you?” the woman snapped.
Caitlyn rubbed her jaw before spitting out a mouthful of blood into the shrubbery. “Watch where I’m going?” She scoffed as she shook her head. “I should—“
But then their eyes met, and Caitlyn found herself floored by the simple beauty of powder-blue.
She was slack-jawed for a brief moment, blinking until she regained some semblance of higher thought.
“Well?” the woman demanded, one finely-shaped brow raised. She was wearing a similarly colored outfit—fitted light-blue trousers and a white button-up with a black tie. The matching jacket was hung over her shoulder—had she also escaped from the party because it was too hot?
Caitlyn cleared her throat. Tried not to look at the tattoo on the stranger’s neck. “I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to intrude."
Why was she apologizing? This was her property.

Summary
Kara asks Lena, “What are we?” over a game of pool, Lena believes the question means far more than stripes or solids. One awkward answer leaves them both convinced their feelings are unreturned, sending them into a slow, painful spiral of longing, jealousy, and almost-confessions.

Summary
“Caitlyn, what-“
A velvet pillow with pink ruffles on the side falls to the ground. A shiver runs along Vi, understanding dawning on her.
Her voice quivers. “Baby.”
“Love,” Caitlyn answers with a cheeky smile as she drops to her fucking knees right in front of her. The blue gleam reflects in her eyes.
The midnight-haired woman reaches out, the tremble of her fingers the only giveaway of how affected she is too. “Vi, I’m going to suck your cock.” She says with the simplicity of announcing the weather, leaving Vi a whimpering mess. “Objections?”
