Robin's frowning. “Did you see his face? He was like…bleeding.” She gives Steve a look. “You should go check on him.”
“Jesus, why me? I barely know him!”
“Me neither!” Robin argues. “But he's in the guy’s bathroom and you're a guy, so logically you should be the one to go in there and make sure he's not getting blood all over the floor! Because if he is, you're the one who's gonna have to clean it up.”
Steve patches Eddie up after a chance encounter. He doesn't mean to fall in love with him, but it happens anyway. Unfortunately, there's something in Eddie's past that keeps getting in their way.

Eddie doesn’t like showing it when he’s scared. Wayne always knows, though. He knew every time Eddie appeared on his doorstep with no warning, small and trembling with a dirty, oversized backpack packed with snacks and worn stuffed animals. He knew when Eddie was taller, a little bit too skinny and too tough for his age, when his dad finally ended up in prison and the government finally let Wayne's kid be his kid. He knew when Eddie was in middle school, friendless and angry and paranoid, when Wayne stumbled upon a stash of porno mags while he was looking for drugs.
So he knows now.

Summary
There are more questions than answers. Gareth suspects that will always be the case. He's never going to know. Nobody's ever gonna tell him what really happened in Hawkins. He knows there's nothing left for him there. But he thinks maybe he needs to see the aftermath for himself, in person, with his own two eyes, because as much as he wanted out of that hell hole all throughout high school, it still feels incredibly unfinished.
So, that means he's going home. Back to Hawkins.
Or: Gareth goes back to Hawkins, and finds a home there.

Steve Harrington, Billy learns, as his world stays frozen, as the thunder booms, as he hears Rebecca’s worried little shriek from the other end of the bar, still can’t throw a very good punch.
