“There are things we can do, Egon, to help you sleep better, all right?” Peter said pointedly, trying to catch the physicist's eyes. “We can work on your sleep hygiene, we can work on relaxation techniques, we can talk about the things that are bothering you, and if you're still not sleeping after that, I know of some medications that might help you.” He paused, then added more sternly, “but dude, you've got to tell me when you're having problems.”

Their hands brush, and all at once Ellie is back in the stupid fucking Jurassic Jeep, Ian’s hand around her wrist, lightly, so lightly. Chaos theory, she thinks, unable to look away from his doe-dark eyes. Drop, drop of water.
It’s between them almost tangibly, she thinks, so thick, the unspoken memory of it. Dragging him, bleeding, into her arms in the truck. Blind with terror for him, herself, for Alan--a never ending mantra, please God let us be okay. The terror, yes, and yet also a faint, half-remembered tension--some dark thing, glistening with potential, like a pool of oil, a tenuous ocean.
She picks up his glass, sips. Faint warmth from his fingers on the stem of the glass.
“Mm. Much better.”
He holds her gaze as he lifts the glass to her in a little salute, then to his lips.
“Anything for you, my dear.” And it’s a joke, obviously, said lightly, and yet--the ocean burns.

The man was in a suit that almost reminded Robert of something from Cirque du Soleil, all skin-tight, shimmering fabric with bursts of red and orange and a V-neck that showed a lot more than neck. The wrap-around sunglasses didn’t even look that ridiculous.
Infuriatingly, he managed to be beautiful, like a Monet in an Ikea frame is beautiful. He had changed very little in the years since Robert first encountered him, at least physically. Robert couldn’t say the same.

Summary
The thing about plastic chairs is that they weren't a great substitute for an actual bed; the other thing is, Robert can't exactly afford to be picky and even if he 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 the internal debate is still ongoing as to whether or not he deserves a mattress at this current point in his life.
So, the plastic chair stays and is staying for the foreseeable future. Besides, it's charming - in a depressing, minimalism-that-is-totally-not-a-reflection-of-his-inner-sense-of-worth way.
Or:The fic where Robert has chronic pain and Flambae has warm hands. The two of them will figure out what to do about that eventually, right?
