Summary
"Don’t." Jude gasped, already scrambling out of the booth. His legs nearly buckled, the world tilting with need. "Headache. Tired. I’m—I’m going. Don’t follow."
He fled before Erling could respond, shouldering through the crowd, hot and dizzy and terrified.
Every step sent a jolt of emptiness through him, his hole clenching around nothing, slick soaking his boxers. The omega inside him was screaming, crying, begging to turn around and crawl into the alpha’s lap. Jude bit his lip until he tasted copper and kept moving.
Erling watched him go, heart pounding a war drum against his ribs. Every instinct he had demanded he chase— the omega was in distress, his omega, entering heat in a dangerous place.
But Jude had said don’t follow.

Summary
“Think you know it all?” Jude sneers.
“About you, sweetheart? Of course,” Erling doubles down. “There’s no reason for anyone to be able to smell you outside of your room. Are you going into heat, Jude?”
What good does it even do Erling if he knows that Jude is in pre-heat? Even if Jude were to be in heat at this very moment, there’s nothing Erling could do about it.
“No,” Jude answers definitively.
Or,
Getting sent packing four days before England means that Erling is in Sicily, Italy whilst Jude is in Kansas City, Missouri.
Losing the semi final match means that the concoction of Jude’s emotions manifest by inducing his heat — all while his alpha is over eight-thousand kilometres away.

Summary
The first time they’d done this, in Ilya’s bed, Shane had been mystified at Rozanov’s insistence that he not enter the nest without Shane’s permission. Now, Shane feels something akin to smugness flexing its claws in his chest. A primal satisfaction at the rightness that he is the one with the power - at present, if not for much longer - alpha just outside the nest and at his mercy.
Like Shane will only yield for someone who has earned it. He can draw out Ilya’s suffering just a little longer, make him earn it.
Shane rakes his gaze over the delicious chest and bicep muscles bunching above the edge of the nest. “Waiting for something, Rozanov?”
“Are you going to let me into your nest, omega?” His pronunciation of the endearment is more Russian than English, accent thickening around the syllables.
“Depends. You gonna give me your knot?”
“Hm, does not sound like begging yet to me.”
Some months after Shane recovers from rejection sickness in Ilya's bed, they share their heat/rut together at the cottage, both clinging to the delusion it's still casual.

"The hotel," Ilya repeated in a flat tone, cupping under Shane's jaw. "What hotel?"
"Uh," Shane replied again, because he had no fucking clue. "I just need to not be here."
"Hollander," Ilya said firmly, squeezing his chin. Shane melted, just a bit, but he tried to remain determined when he started to look for his shorts. Ilya's hand didn't allow for much movement though, his head unable to turn. "Shane, tell me now. Are you going into heat?"

Summary
“I’m fine.” Nicky said. His smile was mean as he paused the game, slouching off the couch. “I’m gonna go get a drink. You better text daddy back before he decides the baby is too precious for sleepovers.”
Luca blinked as Young disappeared, hot embarrassment sparking in his stomach. It left as quickly as it came though, because that was fucking weird. First of all because it was uncharacteristically mean of Nicky, who while he didn’t have the same reputation for being nice as Luca was certainly not a dick, but also because even if it wasn’t Nicky was little too. Why would he even chirp Luca about that?
