Summary
There it is. The faintest incline of his thumb. L’appel du vide.
“We don’t have many spots left.”
Denji waits. Then, without warning, he plucks the card from Yoshida’s hand; barely pinched between two fingernails, like it’ll burn him if he holds more than just a corner. Nevertheless, he takes it.
Say you’re the average San’ya street kid and a mysterious, suited stranger offers to play menko with you. This leads to two distinct discoveries: you absolutely suck at menko, and Tokyo’s got 455 others who empathise with your troubles.

Summary
Again, it’s Agni who breaks the silence. “I’ll come with you.” His promise quivers in the bare inches between them. Togata remembers that this is probably the closest he’s been to another human in multiple years. Explains the heavy breathing.
His frustration departs through means of a long, shaky sigh: a funnel of steam, which – restive – soon twirls up, up, and away into non-existence. (The ephemeral.)
“Great.” Somehow, he sounds more put-together than Agni. “Well, let’s get going.”
In another timeline, Togata burns to death after saving Agni from a watery grave. In this one – the one where Agni lets him go – things turn out a little differently.

“Do you know how to use a gun, Sang-woo?”
Gi-hun, Sang-woo thinks. Gi-hun, Gi-hun, Gi-hun.
The answer is yes. Although both of them know what Sang-woo would do if God pressed a loaded pistol into his hand.
After failing as a player, Sang-woo is pulled back from the brink of death and thrown into the life of a guard. Things start to go haywire four years after he lands the job, when he realises that he's not the only ex-player who's returned to the 37th Squid Game.
