Summary
Christmas has a history of fucking Penelope over, leaving her emotionally scarred. So she shouldn't have been surprised when her plane had to emergency land and the closest civilization was of all things a Christmas theme town. The only room available was stolen right when she got there and by none other than Colin Bridgerton. Despite not seeing each other in five years, he offers to shares the double bed room. The winter storm forces her to accept and she does her all she can to avoid him and their fractured past.

Colin’s eyes flew upward as he put a hand over his forehead to shield it from the strong sunlight. It was a little difficult to see, but the first person to exit the cave was clearly one of the females. She seemed small — her movements slightly tentative — in a cautious rather than cowardly way. She held her head high, despite her petite stature, swiveling her head to survey their family’s new surroundings.
Colin was so focused on her movements that he wasn’t the first to point out the most glaringly obvious thing about her appearance.
“By all the spirits — her head appears to be on fire!” Anthony shouted, gesturing as if the entire rest of the family wasn’t already looking in that direction.
Colin was squinting now, pursing his lips in concentration and tilting his head to the side. Indeed the small female had hair that was red as the setting sun — it was wild, curly, and the daylight glinting off of it made it shine almost golden in certain parts.
He was mesmerized.
