Mike sighed, more of a gravelly ripple in his chest than an actual breath.
"I need a taste." Will froze at that, his head tilting in confusion, "Please?" The alpha begged.
Just as it felt like Will would try to escape again, Mike tightened his grip.
"T-taste of what?" He asked, but stuttered, like he already knew what.
Mike inhaled, breath hitching at that heavy syrupy scent, "You."

He had resigned himself to halfheartedly admire the product of his work and wait patiently for the reason it was demanded of him to show up at his front door."
After slipping up and revealing that he's carrying the child of his "out-of-the-picture" ex-boyfriend, Will must learn to accept the help of his oldest friend and the uncomfortable feelings that come with seeing him again after only hearing his phone on a landline for so long.

When Will's hearing finally returns, it's not Max he hears first.
It's Mike.
"Will!" Mike drops to his knees, all but shoving Max aside as he frantically looks Will over. "Are you–"
The second Mike's hands touch Will, he recoils. His prey instincts fire up again, identifying Mike as a danger.
Mike's aggression lingers in Will's mind. His fangs, his words…Even if they were in his defense, logic didn't cooperate with instinct. He feels like a small child again, hiding in his closet from people who wanted to hurt him. When he'd come home from school and catch a whiff of spice and fury, he had to hide as fast as he could before it could be turned his way.
"Will?" Mike says again, voice suddenly small. Will can smell the worry on him. "I'm–We're gonna get you home, okay?"
Will's eyes flick over to Max. Jane has appeared beside her. "I think you need to step back, Mike," Max says.
Mike fights a guy for feeling Will up in the club. Will's self-preservation instincts make him afraid to seek comfort from Mike.
