Summary
George Russell is a wedding planner at one of London's most established agencies, Williams Events. Secretly a romantic, he's been keeping life at arm's length since he got his heart broken, pouring all of himself into his job. He's fine. He's content. There's nothing more he could want - except for, maybe, being promoted to Lead Planner.
Max Verstappen has the perfect life - a loving girlfriend, two cats, a high-paying finance job, a beautiful house in Marylebone. His upcoming wedding to Kelly is supposed to be a coronation of sorts. It's also the very event which will determine whether George gets his promotion or not.

George goes through the motions, shaking hands, making his way down the line. His eyes meet Verstappen’s as they reach each other, bracing himself for another dig, some mocking remark. But it doesn’t come.
Verstappen’s hand is warm as it grips George’s own, something unreadable in his eyes despite his winning smile.
“Good game.”
“Good game,” George echoes, glancing back briefly as Verstappen moves on to Kimi behind him, brow creasing. He’s never missed an opportunity to rub George’s face in it before. Maybe it’s for the cameras.

Or: As captain of the Warriors Max has won the Elite Hockey League four times, George never has. As a new season begins and they go up against each other again, all George wants is to beat him. Just once.
Oscar's only goal is to prove himself - as a rookie, distractions are something that he cannot afford. Until he meets Lando, the fallen figure skater who Oscar knows nothing about, but still can't stay away from.

Or: Lando loses an F1 championship and signs up for a charity Minecraft speedrunning tournament to cope with his existential crisis. Turns out his coach, faceless speedrunning champion OP81, might be a bit of a fanboy.

Summary

He’s older than she remembers, with white stubble grown out into a beard, and a tattoo on his arm she doesn’t remember.
She looks exactly the same to him.
He’s standing. She’s sitting. The train rocks, daylight flashing through the windows, casting a warm glow over her skin. Neither of them move. She stays seated, because he makes no move towards her.
He stays standing, because the sun has cast a halo around her body. If he moves, he’ll block it. They exchange no words, no physical contact.
But they remember it all.

Summary
Your father’s variety of betrayal once seemed to you rather romantic. To break from the constraints of an arranged Chandrilan marriage, to conceive a child for love alone - such a wonderful story that brought you into existence, wasn't it? Surely one worth at least some of the weight you’d had to drag around of its consequences. It was only in later years that you came to see the tarnished and tawdry reality of it all, the disappointment that your father really was.
It’s not, of course, that you fear you carry some taint of his betrayal with you as if such things can be inherited. Nobody believes that - certainly not on civilised Chandrila. Perhaps you are simply more attuned to your own weakness. Perhaps, through the result of your own heritage, you have been given a conveniently sharp reminder to dig into you like your nails into the meat of your palm: don’t romanticise this. Don’t be stupid. There are no grand love stories here - you’re a starstruck boy with a crush. You’re thankful she was kind to you, that’s all of it. You respect her. It will pass.

She misses her strawberry scented shampoo, her wide hazel eyes, all the times she spent with her hand tucked into hers as she gently painted each nail a color Shauna really disliked but went along with anyway. Partly due to Jackie swearing it would look good on her, but mostly she savored any physical contact her best friend would allow from her. Only Jackie is at Rutgers, and she and Jackie aren’t talking anymore. In fact, Jackie would probably recoil at the sight of her childhood best friend shoving her tongue desperately down the throat of Nasty Natalie. Not because Jackie loves Shauna or even because the jealousy would cause her stomach to turn, forcing her to throw up her lunch. But because Jackie is unwaveringly, undeniably straight. And Jackie thinks things would be easier if Shauna was too.
