After dating for several months, Kakashi finally decides to reveal his face to Iruka.
“Is something wrong? Are you upset?” Iruka asked, his back still turned to Kakashi.
Kakashi shook his head. Realizing Iruka couldn’t see him, Kakashi said, “no.”
Iruka reached his hand back, nearly knocking over the teapot and several bottles of condiments as he grasped blindly for Kakashi’s hand. He caught it. “You’re shaking,” he said. Concern made his voice go higher. “What is it? Are you alright? Pull your mask up so I can see you.” He squeezed Kakashi’s hand.

Trust Iruka to say something so devastatingly sweet. How could Kakashi ever be afraid to show his face to this man? Trust was an act of love and Kakashi loved Iruka.
“Close your eyes,” Kakashi said.
“Kakashi,” Iruka said, and Kakashi could tell from the way his jaw shifted that he was frowning.
“Close your eyes and turn to face me,” Kakashi said. He was embarrassed by the small catch in his throat as he said, “keep them closed until I say.”
