Pete unlocked his front door with the boy pressed up against it, thighs slipping down Pete's sides. The boy snuffled in his sleep and slapped weakly at Pete's shoulder, face scrunching up. Bad dream. Pete soothed a hand over his damp forehead, brushing his bangs away, and let himself finally look at what might have been his best steal ever.

“Umm hi, I’m—” Pete narrows his eyes looking Patrick up and down, “in high school?” he cuts Patrick off. Patrick pulls out his driver’s license and the plastic plopping on the counter makes a sound just loud enough to cut the tension.
“Happy birthday,” Pete smirks, showing a lot of teeth for someone Patrick doesn’t know. He walks into one of the far back rooms and makes a motion for Patrick to follow him. He almost trips on air three times in the hallway alone. Pete closes the door and Patrick wonders if all tattoo and piercing parlors feel this looming. “So,” Pete asks, swirling in his chair, “what’re you thinking of getting? And don’t tell me your girlfriend's name because that would break my heart.”

“Uh,” Patrick mumbles out and the tip of his ears turn the most beautiful shade of pink. “You didn't space out when I was explaining ruts to you—right? I don't—explaining that once was embarrassing enough. Please don't make me explain it again. Please.”
Now it's Pete's turn to roll his eyes. “It's not like I can get pregnant Patrick, technology is not that advanced yet. But like, it could be fun! You do your thing and I get to see that other side of you.”
“The other side of me that wants to kill and eat people?”
“You have eaten a guy before and it wasn't me?” Pete tries his best to not sound disappointed, it's not like he wants to die in such a gruesome manner but like—if Patrick were to eat someone, Pete would like to be the first.
Dating a werewolf has its perks, or at least that's what Pete would say if only Patrick was willing to show him any of them.
