the premise of reincarnation/finding your soulmate in each lifetime already appeals to me so much right off the bat, but couple that with incredible, tension-filled writing and things that aren't necessarily happy but have fleshed out reasons for being as such—grrrrr. birds flying side by side has been and i believe will always be my favourite junhao work. ao3 user dell_x was far ahead of their time.

i could not have asked for a better story to fill the jww/kmg/ksy tag. the words are so sexy they haunt, and how the author described and set the scene each time conjured a vivid image in my head. mingyu's point of view is amazing, soonyoung's characterisation is an ode to the bright and charismatic individual he is, and wonwoo... wonwoo... do i even have to say it? i go crazy go stupid over this story every now and then and it's always a journey worth the insanity

He spends the next few days near losing his mind. Instead of listening in class, he writes a list of positives and negatives about Wonwoo and Jeonghan, and then rips it out, because it feels dumb and reductive to put his feelings into factors like is a good kisser and is a time traveller and I actually know things about him other than the fact that he’s a time traveller. They’re both such different people that it seems impossible to compare them with what he knows so far. It all comes down to one factor, anyway—Wonwoo is his future. He knows that. He’s more or less seen it, with the way Wonwoo knows him so well. Jeonghan is his present, what he can have right now—but at one point or another, that will have to stop. Right?

ao3 user hopeboos' fics are always filled with magic and this one is no exception. the science fiction aspect is flawlessly executed and the plot is so tightly woven. i'm not exaggerating when i say i've revisited this story at least fifteen times... and will do it for another thirty. katie, i hope you know how brilliant you are.
