Summary
Dark eyes flick up and are met with a scowl—all fake annoyance. Beomgyu’s lips move into that little point to try and hold back his grin, and he has Yeonjun back to thinking about the fact that maybe love at first sight isn’t real—but surely there is something between them.
Of course he doesn’t love Beomgyu. He doesn’t even know Beomgyu.
He could snore, and he could be picky. He could be annoying and overbearing and a million other things that would make them not work out.
But there’s something. It’s in Yeonjun’s chest and his fingertips and his lips and his eyes. It’s warm and fuzzy and bright.
Yeonjun moves across the world and meets the man of his dreams on the first night of his new life. But, his hope of making a one night stand into something more is shattered once his new roommate makes it clear that will never happen.

“Not exactly your scene though, is it?” Her voice is smooth like honey and just as rich. Even with the booming bass coming from the speakers she can hear it clearly and it stirs something in her, it always has.
Beomgyu scoffs, “You don’t know that, not anymore.”
“But I do,” Yeonjun finally takes her eyes off of the stage and turns to meet Beomgyu’s. She’s piercing, always piercing, like she can see right through all the pretense and facades Beomgyu feels the need to throw up anytime Yeonjun is near. “I think you’re here for a very different reason.”
Beomgyu and Yeonjun are rivals (mostly) and ex best friends (definitely) but still, they seek each other out whenever they get the chance... secretly, of course.

Has he wished so ardently to see his angel one more time that his brain started pulling pranks on him? Taking a deep breath, Beomgyu walks towards the window, one small step at a time. Moving ever so carefully, as though he’s a predator not wanting to startle his prey, he admires the creature before him. The angel looks as fragile and defenceless as a scared bird, sitting with his arms wrapped around his legs, and torso bending slightly over his knees. His majestic wings contour his frame as if they were a veil, so long that some feathers graze the floor.
“It’s you,” Beomgyu whispers. “The angel from my dreams.”

Beomgyu let out a small whine, their noses bumping. It was when Yeonjun opened his eyes but what he saw wasn’t the soft brown eyes he adored. It was a painting on the wall of Madonna weeping and as she wept, she was looking at Yeonjun.
Looking at Yeonjun as he transferred his own filth onto Beomgyu and Yeonjun could swear he saw her move and shake her head in disapproval for tainting her child.
or; yeonjun has been in a church three times in his life and beomgyu kneels there every week because his life depends on it.
