Step one: Sneak into the rookery. (Easy. Everyone’s used to seeing them about at weird hours-Eve’s nightmares make sure of that. Plus, Eve’s got that whole I belong here walk now. Which is funny, ‘cause Sera’s seen her practice it when she thinks no one’s looking. Like, why? Who’s she rehearsing for?)
Step two: Get past the guards. (Even easier. Bunch of ‘em are Jenny friends anyway. Amazing what you can do with a few well-placed extra rations and some accidentally overheard gossip about which nobles are shagging who.)
Step three: Introduce Leliana’s Very Important Spy Ravens to some completely harmless, definitely non-lethal colour powder.

The two of them share sideways glances and rose-bush blushes but rarely touch beyond a grazing hand or a chaste kiss between the brows. They operate in opposite shifts, Lux still an early riser from her military days and Shadowheart maintaining her nightowl demeanor from her decades under Shar’s oppressive thumb. They share the warmth of a communal bed for an hour at most, one or the other too unconscious to notice the dipping of a mattress or the sliding of cold toes against a warm calf. It causes an ache in Shadowheart’s chest but she is too busy to rectify it.
She is too busy to notice Lux watching her, week after week, a sort of puzzle piecing together behind moonlit eyes. She is too busy to notice her lover concocting a plan.

Summary
It was easy to see why someone would want to leave Pelican Town to go to the city, given how small the town was and how remote it could feel on quiet, slow days.
Penny understood how people could want to leave for a larger life outside the valley, but she did not share in the sentiment. Even on the quiet days, even on the days where an argument with her mother escalated into a fight, she had no real desire to leave home for a far-off place. Pelican Town was home, always welcome and always welcoming.
When word came in that a new farmer would finally be taking up residence on the old Amundsen Farm after years of no one, part of Penny was not surprised that someone would want to come to Pelican Town. She could not help but be curious, wanting to greet and get to know the new farmer.
Still, there was no way for her to have guessed what had driven the farmer out of the big city and into the remote valley, and why she was so very quiet and quick to run. Still, there was no way she would let it drive her off in turn.
