Summary
A second, then a blur. Ilya knocking over one of the kitchen island stools to engulf Shane. His shaking frame holding Shane so tight, Shane felt himself shaking back. He could only hold on back, just as tightly.
“Please.” Came the strangled voice by his left ear. “Please, tell me.”
And who was Shane to ever deny a wish of Ilya Rozanov.
“I’m signing to Ottawa. Tomorrow. If you would want to come with.”
And then Ilya was shoving him back, holding him close to his face. “Of course. I drive. Of course I come.”

Shane, fed up with Montreal, signs to Ottawa before their relationship is revealed. While he doesn't plan on keeping that a secret for long, he asks Ilya to let him get to know the team first, before they come out. To maybe have a normal season. “Sure, Roz. You and Hollander are in love, want to get married, spend the rest of your lives playing hockey together.” When Ilya didn’t immediately reply to that very accurate statement, Hunter continued: “If you two are in love, I’m straight. That’s how likely that is.” He had laughed and skated away, though Ilya really hadn’t understood what was supposed to be funny about that.
Standing alone on the ice, the crowd slowly filing out of the rink, Ilya was faced with a startling realization: telling people may be harder than he thought.

"What the fuck happened?” In the locker room, while their team celebrates around them, Ilya runs his thumb carefully over Shane’s cheek. Shane avoids his eyes sheepishly.
“He was getting on my nerves.”
“I do that every day,” Ilya supplies.
“He, uh,” Shane briefly looks back over his shoulder; their guys are busy chanting “Centaurs, Centaurs!”, “...he kept calling Luca a,” he lowers his voice, “faggot, and kept asking if he gets, y’know,” he pulls a face to indicate something dirty, “by us in the locker room.”

Summary
Shane shuffles his feet, nervously. “So, I met your mom. She’s really nice.”
Rozanov’s eyes cut to him and there’s something in there that Shane doesn’t understand. He hates how bad he is at reading people’s faces, especially now that Ilya is looking at him like he has said the worst possible thing he could say, instead of trying to make nice small talk like he intended to.
“What did you say?” Ilya asks.
Shane flinches and this time he is sure Ilya didn’t miss it. Rozanov’s cutting gaze is making his skin crawl in a way that makes him want to run and hide. He swallows hard and, with everything in him, he holds Rozanov’s gaze.
“I said,” Shane’s voice is shaky. “I met your mom. She’s really nice. We talked for a little while, before the figure skating started.”
“Is this a joke?” Ilya’s voice cracks on the last word. “Are you playing some kind of sick joke on me?”
OR: Shane Hollander meets Irina Rozanova('s ghost) at the Sochi Olympics.
