Summary
Nearing the end of the Golden Age of Piracy, Aziraphale finds himself trying to enjoy his extended work-cation in Spain when he's approached by Gabriel with an unusual mission. The burial shroud of Jesus Christ has been stolen and the last known location of the Shroud of Turin is rumoured to be in the possession of famous Privateer and Corsair, Amaro Pargo. His mission is simple: retrieve the Shroud and return it to Turin Italy before deadly forces and the might of Hell discovers its whereabouts.
But upon arriving in Tenerife one whole day after Amaro passes away, Aziraphale realises that his mission has now turned into an impossible treasure hunt. Worse still, he stumbles across Crowley, having taken up profession with the local pirates and has been causing mischief in return. With the clock ticking, Aziraphale must find Amaro Pargo's treasure before Crowley does, and his frenemy has learned a few nasty tricks from the pirates he's been assisting in causing trouble for the locals.
Things are going to get very interesting, indeed...

What if Aziraphale and Crowley found themselves back in London, back in the bookshop, with more time together?
Crowley held his gaze, and Aziraphale drifted closer, slipping his hands into Crowley’s. Aziraphale took a steadying breath. “In the other bookshop, the one from the Book of Life, I… we talked in a way we never have before.” His mouth was dry, his nerves still raw, but he needed to get the words out. “I’d like it if we could continue that conversation. About what we each want, since it appears we have a second chance.”
Crowley swallowed hard, his eyes misting. “Aziraphale — what if this is all just an illusion, if this isn’t —”
“Hush.” Aziraphale placed two fingers over Crowley’s lips. “I’ll take whatever we have. As long as we’re together, I’m content.” He gently traced Crowley’s lower lip with his fingertips, drawing closer to his warmth.

Crowley’s desire for Aziraphale was not, as its core, sexual. No, the desire came from the love, the love he’d had for Aziraphale since before the Fall that had only grown stronger with every interaction. When Aziraphale had given his sword to Adam and Eve. When he’d had so much more faith in Crowley than in God, faith that Crowley would not harm Aziraphale, or Job’s children.
Angels were not alive, and therefore could not die. The Fall was much much worse than the human concept of death, worse than discorporation by a long shot. The Fall was transformative, breaking them down in order to churn out something completely new. Crowley was no longer that Angel. Nor was he a shadow of that Angel, nor a broken piece of that Angel. He was something different altogether. A Demon. But a Demon who loved an Angel, and who loved the earth and humanity.
Deeply.
Passionately.
Somehow more than any being ever had before, and yet growing rapidly with each encounter. And someday it was going to consume him.
...or rather, in which: Crowley poses a question and Aziraphale refuses (until he doesn't)

went on ao3 (as one does) and looked for asa x anthony fics (as it seems less people do) and there was a tumbleweed rolling across my screen so I took to my Google doc (as we all do). This was just an idea i was playing with so we'll see what it turns into and if people enjoy it at all.
I tried to make their characters... what's the expression? "Sisters but not twins" of our beloved ineffable husbands. So if there's anything that seems horrible OOC for any of their iterations, please chastise me lightly in the comments.

Adam was pointing at the rack on Aziraphale's desk, where an old cabinet photograph was wedged between a ledger and a small brass owl. In the photograph there were two men. One of them was, of course, Aziraphale, with that faintly bothered, faintly delighted angelic face that had not altered in any meaningful way for several decades. The other was a sharp-eyed young man with dark hair, wearing the kind of enormously satisfied smile that suggested he was in possession of the funniest secret in the world and had no immediate plans to share it.
Both of them were laughing.
Crowley had been wondering about that photograph for years.
Set shortly after the events of the original novel and Season 1 of the TV series.
A few years after the world didn't end, an angel and a demon take a quiet drive into the countryside. Aziraphale doesn't yet know where they're going. Crowley doesn't yet know how to say it.
A story about old friends, kept promises, and the things humans notice when angels aren't looking.

"No!" Aziraphale wanted to shout. "No, come back this instant, come inside and do something about this cursed desire before it kills me!"
They've had wagers before, it's nothing new. But this one has an edge to it and Aziraphale doesn't know how deep of a hole he can dig for himself before the desires he's filling in it choke him.
