    When she flipped the card over, she couldn’t help but laugh. Disbelieving, she looked up at Jack. He had the confused scrunch between his eyebrows.

    “... What? Look, I know she’s a little old to be my niece, but my brother is eight years older than me, so I’m not that old, I swear-”

    “No, that’s not it,” she huffed. “It’s just…”

    She flipped the invitation over and held it up so he could see the photo on the front.

    “That’s your niece?”

    He nodded, still confused. There was large font superimposed over the picture: Please join us for the wedding of Jennifer and Chris!

    “Well…” she pointed to the man in the smart suit next to her. “That is my ex boyfriend.”

    For the second time in a day, his eyebrows shot almost all the way up his forehead.

    “... No shit.”
