Hua Cheng looks away.
“San Lang,” Xie Lian prompts again.
“Would you be rough with me in bed if I asked, gege?” Hua Cheng asks, a little nervous. It’s hard to let the feeling consume him entirely whenever Xie Lian is this close, though.
Two fingers rest beneath his chin and pull his face back. Hua Cheng meets Xie Lian’s eyes and swallows thickly. “How rough, San Lang?” Xie Lian answers.

Summary
Xie Lian likes that staring at Hua Cheng long enough gets his heart racing. He likes that the quirk of Hua Cheng's mouth when he's biting back a smile is familiar enough that he could trace it in his sleep; likes that he's allowed to look whenever he wants with no consequence other than Hua Cheng's warm, lighthearted teasing.
He likes looking. There are so many things about Hua Cheng worthy of Xie Lian's admiration, but sometimes–he squeezes the wood plank in his hands hard enough to splinter it–sometimes, he wants to touch.
