Carol hears nothing but her heart in her ears. The wind is in her eyes, drying them, she didn’t know they were wet. Endlessly monochrome, before her: the killer.
“Yes,” she says finally. “You should have.”
OR: Two bodies are found in the lake, and a funeral is planned for three. Carol Holiday is left alone.

He keeps cringing with each one, but the bit is too important to commit to. By the time he's finished listing off more and more names, his face feels hot and he stops typing. The room is silent, and Saps looks around. Flux and the goons are staring at him, mouths wide open.
"Uh…Flux?”
"Oh my god, I think you broke him," Thomas says.

The siege on the volcano had succeeded. Cynnika was killed, and Fluixon fell to a fiery death.
After the events of Infernus, Saparata withdraws from the world to live in a hut in the middle of the forest, just like he originally planned. Retirement, at long last! If only those scheming violet eyes would stop haunting his dreams.
Unfortunately, fate just loved to play tricks on him. Two days after settling in, an injured Fluixon shows up at his hut in the woods. Charred, battered, and missing a large chunk of his memory, but certainly not dead.
