AU (Black Mirror). All of society is regimented by a Five Star social scale, voting on each interaction, photo, and anecdote. Keeping up is practically a full time job, but fortunately, Light Yagami excels at smiling and lying through his teeth. It’s no wonder he becomes one of the youngest with a 4.5+ Star rating in existence, all while carefully pretending to be apathetic to the whole system.
A misunderstanding avalanches, leaving Light in with less than half his usual Rank in a matter of hours. He reacts as any wrongfully accused person (who is not at all to blame) would.
