In a universe where Shinsou Hitoshi was born earlier and Aizawa Shouta was born later, Midoriya Izuku makes his first friend in several years during his second year at Aldera Middle School.

For most of his life, Izuku worked hard to keep his “gift” such as it was a secret. It wasn’t a quirk. Maybe it was a remnant of a power that passed through his family before quirks even existed. He knew, due to his Dad’s journal, that he had “the gift” as well.
For his whole life, Midoriya Izuku did not have a quirk, but he did have a "gift". Seeing yokai was more of annoyance than anything else, except when visible yokai Shinsou Hitoshi decided to take an interest in him.
