“Mayyyyyypicc,” Spoke croons, draping himself over his best friend’s lap like an expensive blanket. They’re laying in the shade of a shaking aspen, and when the wind blows cool and gentle over the field it rattles the leaves above them.
“Whaaaaaaaat,” replies Mapic, drawling out the inner vowel just as long. He takes one of the ribbons of Spoke’s rainbow headband in his hands and fiddles absently with it. Spoke watches the color flicker for a moment before he smiles.
“What do you know,” Spoke asks, sweetly. “About worship?”
