Seeking comfort in materialistic things is normal. But you? You decided to spend your sorrow into an incompleted visual novel called "The Freak Circus." It was silly, you knew that, but would you stop? Hell, no.
In fact, you couldn't even count how many times you replayed the game, over and over again, just to pick the same ol' known options. It was pathetic. Nothing could replace the fulfillment it gave you, but soon the hole in your heart started to form again.
Oh, how you wished you could oh-so suddenly wake up within the game. A place to start a new life, one where you wouldn't have to face your real life struggles, and not to mention meeting the characters you loved... But that's just an absurd dream to keep hidden inside a drawer somewhere.
And it sure was absurd, but alas, it wasn't a dream anymore.
or: you isekai into the tfc story as a separate character from the player entity. the story now depends on your free will, but you decide not to draw too much attention. despite that, dynamics change, things get layered, and unexpected things happen...

Summary
Lottie just spawns into a town in Alaska one night and have been living there for the last 5 years of her life as a staff at a bookstore, painting and helping her friend/boss/landlord Raven rebind books for a living. Life is slow. Life is quiet. And sure, everyone have a little secret in their lives, anyway, so it shouldn't be at all suspicious that a girl with no legal papers have a secret of her own...like the fact that she's from another world? It isn't like her being there brings about the end of the world or something.
Then...the circus rolls into town in middle of the night and pops up tents like mushrooms after a storm.
It isn't all that strange, really, even if the town is a bit creeped out by their appearances. But they are the Circus of Horror so being uncanny should be in the job's description. Yet...why is the Ring Master so familiar with Lottie? And why are the rest of the circus so focused on her? Does she know them?

—you felt eyes on you.
You raised your eyes, blinking as your eyeglasses slid down and your focus went blur, you could have sworn the same bright glowing purple lights stared at you, your hands put away your shirt in the plastic as you stood properly, one hand adjusting your eyeglasses.
You were correct, Jester, despite being given an opportunity to look away and have you think it's another one of your mistakes, is staring at you. Very blatantly.
And he looks proud of it, too, smiling widely.
You paused, raising an eyebrow.
Jester's eyes pointedly lowered down to the counter, to where the counter effectively hides your lower half from view, asking lightly, almost expecting, “your pants is severely drenched, my pearl, aren't you going to take it off, too?”
Your mouth dropped open, hands quickly snatching the towel off from the counter to cover yourself with it, expression scandalized as you screamed, expression hot, “Jester!”

The Hashira are the strongest members in the Demon Slayer Corps and are well respected among other slayers. That is, until it was discovered that the Water Hashira had hidden a demon's existence from the Corps for over two years. Follow along as the Hashira go on missions to kill demons, learn more about their comrades, and even have to work on keeping stability within the Corps.
I apologize to everyone who liked this story, but I sadly have to discontinue this. My partner whom I was working on this with and I had some issues so we aren't working together. I'm not going to write a different Demon Slayer fic as of rn. I am planning a South Park one that I hope to get a bit of info out on it soon. Thank you everyone who liked this story.
