Summary
The woman’s name was Kelly Kline. Cas learned it when they called to tell him that she had died in the delivery room. Somehow, she had gotten entangled with Cas’ brother, the worst of his brothers. She hadn’t told him she was pregnant and it wasn’t long after he left her that his past finally caught up with him. He was serving time for tax evasion (only because they couldn’t make murder stick) when the baby was born. If fate had been kinder, Kelly would have raised the child on her own.
Instead, on a cold May night, Kelly gave birth to her son. Seven pounds, eight ounces with gray-blue eyes that ran in his fathers family and a dead mother that was just as much of a family tradition.
With Kelly having no living family and the boy’s father rightfully as far away from him as was possible by law, there left the question of who would care for him.

Summary
To say that life hadn't gone the way that Cas had expected it to was an understatement in the least. His life had been simple, and he liked it. There was something to be said for simplicity. He lived alone above the bookshop that he had inherited from his father. He made his own hours, he didn't really have to answer to anyone, and for the most part had few big struggles beyond running the shop, but then, that was before.
It wasn’t a normal situation when your brother gets a girl pregnant then gets sent to jail, but then again, as much as he pretended to be, Cas wasn't really a normal person. Her name was Kelly, the girl, and she didn't survive the delivery, leaving the question open as to who was going to take care of the child.
Cas had lots of brothers, lots of family, but for some reason or another none of them could do it. Micheal was still in and out of mental hospitals, Rafiel hadn't been seen in years, and honestly, Gabe could barely keep himself afloat much less a kid. Cas had a job, a home, and the most mental stability of any of them, so of course, the baby went to him. -

“It’s not much but it's all yours.” Hank gestured into the room.
He watched as Connor took it all in and squinted in confusion not making a move to enter. “I appreciate the gesture Lieutenant, but I don't sleep. It’s not necessary-”
Hank cut him off with a gruff sigh. He knew that he should be more patient with him but did this kid really have to fight him every time he tried to give him anything? “Connor it’s not about sleep.” He pushed Connor into the room just hard enough that he stumbled a little. “I just figured if you were gonna be living here you might want a place that’s yours. You know, a place to keep your stuff or to get some privacy. Even decorate it if you want. Whatever you want to do with it.”
Recovering his footing Connor took another look around the room with a bit more purpose. “Whatever I want to do with it?” He mumbled as the little yellow LED on his right temple started to spin.

Tim's train of thought was cut short abruptly. his eyes shot toward the door in panic but there was nothing he could do. It was like seeing an oncoming car and not having the time to get to safety. Time seemed to slow down. There was the distinct sound of someone turning the doorknob. The room was flooded with light and there right in the center of it was Dick, smiling encouragingly and not at all aware of what he had walked into. He continued speaking without missing a beat. “I need a double for Taboo and-”
His eyes met Tims and the rest of the words died in his throat. The playful smile he had been wearing evaporated instantaneously. “What's wrong?”

The beginning of this is set pre- Age of Ultron and the second half is set post- Age of Ultron. I wrote this one after Endgame to help myself heal just a little bit so I hope that this little bit of fluff from the honeymoon phase of the MCU will help you heal as well. -

Summary
I decided to write a happier ending for the series to give myself some closure and that happier ending mostly consisted of Lemony Snicket encountering the Baudelaires on Briny Beach when they land for the 4th time and finding a new family. It is a very happy ending so if that's not what you are here for I suggest you find another fic.

People keep showing up dead in Beacon and Detective Shane Madej is looking for any way to put a stop to it. Unfortunately for him, the only person who seems to have any theory about what is going on is the delusional tabloid reporter who keeps showing up at his crime scenes to tell him that this was an alien abduction. With nowhere else to turn Shane is forced to consider the idea, even if he knows it is definitely not true.
