Summary
“Hey, do you top?” James asks out of nowhere one night.
They are sprawled across the couch in Regulus’s flat, watching some action movie neither of them is that interested in. As per usual, Regulus is almost fully lying on top of James, his head on James’s chest; probably his favourite place to lay his head. His ear pressed against the very real heartbeat of this man he adores.
“What?” Regulus asks, startled.
“Top? I mean do you fuck people, men, do you fuck—I mean hopefully not recently—Jesus fuck, what I mean to say is, have you topped before, and do you like it?” James finally asks.
Regulus raises on his hands, on either side of James’s torso, and looks at James. James meets his stare, unflinching under Regulus’s scrutiny. It’s probably lost its effect by now with how smitten Regulus is with his boyfriend. Now, that he thinks about it, it’s weird how they’ve never talked about this before.
“Yes,” he pulls himself off James, moving to sit beside him. “I have topped before and yes, I do like it."

"In retrospect, James ought to have seen it coming. Regulus has always been too beautiful, too captivating, and too damn interesting to not fall in love with. James doesn’t know how he hadn’t noticed it years before, although now it feels like he’s always been aware. Maybe in the back of his mind, in the restricted section, where he wouldn't dare look.
So, James falling in love with Regulus isn’t all that surprising. What's surprising is how different it feels. He has been in love before; he had loved Lily so deeply that, at times, it felt like he would drown in it. Loving Regulus feels like the sea, but it doesn’t feel like drowning, no, not at all. It feels vast as the ocean and yet calm as a shore without any waves. Loving Regulus feels quiet, and James never really had quiet before. When he has his arms wrapped around Regulus and his nose in Regulus’s hair, James can almost feel his thoughts settling down, making peace with each other. Of course, this is not to say Regulus doesn’t excite him. Oh, how he excites James..."

"Regulus is still holding his hand when he turns around to face him. They look at each other for a long, charged second before Regulus tugs on his hand and pulls James to himself, capturing his lips. It starts out hungry and desperate, but James slowly calms their kiss down, sweetens it, coats it with patience and care. They have all night; he doesn’t want this to be quick. He wants to take his time. He pulls back just a breath away from the kiss.
"I want to take my time," he whispers against Regulus's lips. Regulus pulls back enough to look into James's eyes. James doesn't know what he sees but Regulus has a cryptic yet soft look in his.
“Can I?”
Regulus nods and kisses him again. This time much slower, more deliberate."

His wavy black hair sticking to his forehead with sweat, his mouth slightly open, his head thrown back against some guy’s shoulder, his shiny, slightly baggy grey satin shirt left mostly unbuttoned and tucked into the black trousers that fit snuggly on his hips but continue straight down his legs seemingly leaving him enough room to move as seductively and gracefully as he's currently moving. The silver pendant left on display on his chest catches James's eyes as it occasionally reflects the moving lights. James can swear he knows him, the way he feels drawn to this beautiful creature. He finally lifts his gaze from the bare glistening chest adorned with one silver necklace to his face again and finds himself looking right into familiar grey eyes. James sees the recognition dawn on Regulus, and he's almost certain the same expression is reflected back to him."

Regulus hasn't seen his brother in five years and when he finally comes back to London after being away in France for those five years, he runs into the only person who can bring his brother back to him.
*I suck at summaries, and I don't know how to describe my vision for this fic, but basically, it's a muggle university au. Sirius ran away from home when he was sixteen, and after that their parents sent Regulus away to boarding school in France. Our story begins with Regulus's return to his home country and unravels from there. This will be jegulus and black brothers focused. I plan to explore those two dynamics as the main focus of this story, but other dynamics hopefully will be explored as well.
