The cabinets sit unevenly, wood water-warped and aged, with shelves that bow under the weight of Katsuki’s extensive spice rack. The appliances are a little outdated, and the backsplash is fucking ugly—Katsuki’s words, because Eijirou kinda likes the weird colors—and in the middle of the kitchen sits a thick slab of marbled stone breaking up the room, with half a handprint already singed into the side from when Katsuki stubbed his toe on the corner of it during the tour.
Just Eijirou and Katsuki, and the four edges of a countertop as the foundation for a life together.

"What did you make?" Eijirou asks as the excited five-year-old roots around her backpack.
She makes a pleased sound, finding whatever it is, and turns around with her arms tucked behind her back.
"Close your eyes!" Kiko commands.
He and Katsuki trade a look before closing their eyes.
"No peaks! ...But put your hands out."
Both of them put a hand out only for something rough and feather-light to be placed there. Given the green light to look, they inspect the objects. Both of them have a paper mâché heart, finger painted in homage to their respective hero costumes. Kiko's face and ears are tinted pink, rocking back and forth on her feet nervously.
"Do you like it?" She asks shyly.
Eijirou can't get a word in edgewise before Katsuki does.
"It's my favorite heart I own."

There are a handful of set-in-stone rules in Katsuki’s life: one, eat a lot of good food; two, villains are scum; and three, pups and Omegas are sacred.
After a massive trafficking bust with countless pups and Omegan victims reveals a strange new drug, Katsuki becomes the newest unwilling victim of the drug’s effects. When he receives help from the most unlikely of sources, Katsuki learns that there's more to the villain and more to the culprit behind the trafficking bust, and the only one he can trust to help him sort this out is his most vile nemesis, Blood Riot.

Summary
The club seems to tilt. Katsuki's eyes widen and his breath gets caught in his throat. The lights blur, the background music now fading as if underwater. Eijirou goes back to swaying, trying to make him follow pace naturally, but Katsuki suddenly feels utterly overwhelmed. He becomes acutely aware of the way Eijirou's moving his body, his thumb still gently caressing the skin on Katsuki's waist. Is he even aware that it’s there? The heat of him, his scent that has grown so familiar, his dyed hair falling over his eyes. It's all too much.
Katsuki's thoughts scatter. This was dangerous territory. This was a line that had never been crossed before, despite their many years of friendship. Friends don’t hold each other like this, don’t look at each other the way Eijirou was right now.
Slow, searching, lingering. Looking for permission.
Eijirou's other hand comes up to the other side of his waist, taking one slow step even closer. The contact is light, respectful, but Katsuki still find himself backing up as if burned.
“I need to piss.” He mutters, and makes his way through the crowd with panicked steps.
He can feel Eijirous stare on his back, all the way until he's no longer visable.

Katsuki has obviously just woken up, his face a little swollen and his blonde hair stubbornly sticking out at every angle, somehow even more chaotic than usual. His eyes are rimmed red and can barely stay open beyond a squint, but they still manage to deliver Eijirou a scaldingly unimpressed look as they travel from his face down to his very poorly shielded privates and back up again.
Eijirou exhales with relief and grins at the sight. "Aw, dude, you look like a dandelion!"
He doesn't flinch when the towel whips him in the face.

A suited man stepped over the yellow tape as if it were ordinary decoration, the kind hotels might put out for themed parties. The stride carried confidence without tipping into arrogance, the kind that made officers straighten instinctively even before noticing the badge clipped discreetly at his belt.
Bakugo moved into his path before any of the others reacted. The man paused, not startled, simply adjusting the sleeve of his jacket as though interruptions were part of his morning routine.
“Detective Katsuki Bakugo, I presume.”
The greeting came smooth, delivered without any attempt at charm. The man’s height alone drew attention, although the bright red hair did most of the work. Up close, he looked sharper than he had from across the barricades, like someone who rarely arrived anywhere unprepared.
“Who the hell are you, and why are you stepping into a sealed perimeter?”
The newcomer let his gaze drift briefly to the tape behind him. “Eijiro Kirishima. I have been assigned to assist with this investigation.”

“Shut up!” Katsuki interrupts. Why the fuck would Kirishima even bring that up? How fucking dare he. How fucking dare he even ask?
“Because you’re an idiot, that’s why. Do I need any more reason?”
“Dude, I’m trying my best here. You don’t always have to be an ass, you know.” Kirishima crosses his arms.

It certainly doesn't help that he keeps getting paired with Kirishima, who's all smiles and way too damn friendly for his own good.
