Summary
Myths of old said that Strife always contended with Sky, using golden spears to blind numerous heavenly eyes. That the arm strength of Nikador was so tremendous, the force of his throw pushed Oronyx's moons off their spots until they obscured Aquila's sun.
As the conqueror of Strife coreflame, Mydei undoubtedly wielded such sky-shattering power now. But, he wouldn’t do such thing. Not only because Aquila had hidden the burning celestial body and the man had manifested as guarantor of conflict's end rather than instigator, he also wished to consume a different sun. Namely the one on Phainon's neck.

Mydei had never one to dwell upon the more selfish, primitive desires and wants that could never be realized. He was well accustomed to not being in a position wherein indulging was in the cards.
But if he'd had it his way, he internalized… he'd have had Phainon mouthing at the shape of him through his trousers like this halfway through that first, fateful ten days of sparring.
After assuming Nikador's divinity, Mydei's grand entrance into-- and subsequent resolution of-- the conflict with the Flame Reaver renders Phainon speechless-- and very, very turned on.

Priorities, priorities… Mydei could, and would, forgive anything done out of necessity; even if at a detriment, or a loss, to himself. He could forgive the thirty three million lifetimes of what others might call “betrayal”, but each time, before the Coreflames withered and killed his mind and soul, leaving only the broken shell of a body, Phainon had walked towards him as a warrior, on the battlefield where a prize was sought, another Coreflame to add the mounting millions for a soul, and each time, Phainon had offered him an honourable death, one befitting a warrior from the proud nation of Castrum Kremnos.
Some might say Mydei does not have his priorities in order. He has a different opinion.

At first he just came across an eager fan, overzealous in his ravings but still somewhat professional. Mydei would’ve let it slide, Phainon is an adult and can handle people on his own but he just smiles and laughs. Mydeimos assumes it’s the setting that doesn’t let Phainon react the way that he should but it still irks him more than it should, a small possessive part of him bristles at the constant raving of Phainon’s skills. Mydei is well aware of Phainon’s skill but it's only his mouth that should praise him like this, only he could offer the worship he deserves not this man's brief farce of an understanding.
It’s maddening to listen to.

Mydei ends up at fancy dinner for one of Phainon's modeling gigs, he was quite happy to spend the evening sitting beside his lover watching him soak in the praise he rightfully deserves. That plan is ruined by an overzealous PR man at the dinner who spends that evening flooding Phainon with praise, praise that make Mydei bristle. "Have I ever not indulged you?" Mydei tries, huffing. It eases his nerves, if only marginally. "Aren't the others always on my case about indulging you too much?" He wets his lips, a shuddering sigh escaping him as he rocks his hips forward, the flushed tip of his length ghosting over the tender stretch of the narrow fissure.
"There's only one thing that I'll stop for," He reminds him knowingly—it's not a question, but still Phainon feels the need to enforce that he knows the answer.
"Me."
"You," Mydei acquiesces, and he takes a long, deep breath.
There isn't a single part of Phainon that Mydei doesn't want to indulge in.

Mydei hums, pretending to actually consider Phainon's question. "That depends," he rumbles, voice pitched to a depth he usually reserves for his more stubborn quarry.
"On?" His voice is strained again. Forcing the word out before he swallows dryly, eyes searching—is he in danger, or is the alpha simply toying with him? It lends itself well to what he's asking, he supposes.
"Whether it will heighten the thrill of the chase."
It's just Phainon's luck that a lion wanders into his personal sanctuary, almost drowns, and then—for whatever reason—keeps coming back.

Phainon is, he thinks, eyes tracing the arch of his brow, the curved bridge of his strong nose and plush, pink lips. He could be so well behaved.
After a messy breakup, Phainon seeks out a change of pace. He might not be one of Mydei's regulars, but he wouldn't mind being something a little more.

Phainon may have started panicking. At the bare minimum, he felt blindsided— Mydei was purposefully being combative, despite Phainon having been nothing but amicable, and now he was making it sound like Phainon was the one in the wrong.
So he did the most logical thing he could think of in response, of course— acting before really thinking about it— and demonstrated his willingness to participate in what he'd perceived to be a provocation from the Crown Prince—
He undid the knot holding the tiny modesty towel in place—the pristine white fabric fell, and with it, so did Mydeimos's gaze.
“Oh,” Mydei answered eloquently, an odd expression crossing his face as he stared unabashedly, while Phainon, much more abashedly, allowed him to.
Be it through ignorance or wishful thinking, Phainon interprets Mydei's shamelessness as a direct provocation to settle the score between them, following the event of their ten-day, ten-night battle resulting in a draw.
