It's been a full year of living in close quarters on the Hail Mary. Grace was bound to mess up eventually.
If Grace was still on Earth, he would have plenty of options for places to go. A quiet park, maybe a movie theater, a walk on the beach. Something like that. As it is, stuck on the Hail Mary, he just doesn’t have that many options of places to go after a fight with his roommate.

Do you really think that’s a good idea?” The lighting in the room darkens and her voice lowers, but that’s not nearly as scary as she thinks it is. You shake your head and act frightened anyway.
“Good. Then if there are no more objections, you’ll find your equipment through the chamber lock.” The door out of GLaDOS’s core opened, and you don’t waste time getting to your portal gun.
“Oh, and one more thing: These next tests will carry the risk of being lethal. I happen to like it rough.”

“This wouldn’t happen if you just let me take your brain, deconstruct it, put your knowledge in a computer and build you a robot body. Of course, we couldn’t make a realistic copy of your body – I don’t think we can afford that much material – but we could fill your torso with lead, I suppose. You’d be almost as heavy, and just as toxic to everyone around you.”
It is exceptionally difficult to glare daggers at someone while sick and trying to hold a thermometer in your mouth, but Chell managed.

Ze stares at the ceiling. It’s wooden, just like everything else in this house. Endless repeating wooden slats(torches and bedrock and torches and bedrock and…). Over, and over, and over again(and over and over and over and over…). A tiny bug crawls over one slat.
Ze slowly taps his fingers on his stomach. The (once-soft, now rough) fabric of his tee(once white, now gray) bunches every so often beneath his fingers.
He can hear his breathing(breathing and alive and human and alive) and he can see, in the corners of his eyes, his chest rise and fall(alive alive alive). His left nostril is stopped up(pollen? Is there pollen here?) and it whistles when he breathes in.
