then jeongguk says, “i would like to apologize, but i don’t believe i am who you think i am.” he looks at yoongi, still confused as ever. “my name is jeon jeongguk. i’m the personal guard of prince min yoongi, the second son of the king and queen of the kingdom of great joseon. when i fell asleep last night, it was the year 1719. i seem to have… traveled here by some form of magic.”
jeongguk looks at him like he’s meant to have some answer for that. but yoongi can only stare at jeongguk, replaying the words back in his head. and then, once the silence has stretched on long enough, yoongi begins laughing.
(or: yoongi wakes to find that his boyfriend has been switched with a version of himself from a parallel universe. he also finds that it’s impossible to not love jeongguk, no matter where or when he came from.)

he can tell that yoongi isn’t all that comfortable here, with the idea of a ranch. and he knows that they’re here to do homework, but jeongguk can’t help milking this for all that it’s worth. so he asks, “d’you want a tour? i can show you the stables and some of the horses and stuff. maybe if they like you, i’ll even take you for a ride the next time you have to come over.”
“um,” says yoongi, looking down at his clothes. “are you sure this is appropriate?”
“oh, it really isn’t,” grins jeongguk, already heading back out of the door, “but i just want to see you squirm, min yoongi.”
(or: yoongi is from the city, jeongguk is from the country. over homework and horseback riding, they meet somewhere in the middle.)

yoongi almost stumbles into someone’s back, staring as his string goes upward, suddenly, and he follows it with his eyes as he looks up up up and sees—a hoop suspended in mid air, high above the crowd, and a boy hanging from it by nothing but his feet. yoongi stops breathing as he watches, the boy swinging back and forth before he swings right off of the hoop, and the crowd gasps, and he swings a hand out instead, catching himself before he plummets to the ground below. he’s an acrobat.
yoongi’s red string is attached to the acrobat.
(or: yoongi goes to the magical circus, meets his soulmate, and learns that sometimes, home isn't a place at all.)

yoongi winces, glancing sideways at jeongguk—still sitting peacefully, eyes closed, not breathing. months of yoongi’s hard work right there, the android that yoongi had envisioned. he’s always thought it would be neat to have an android for an assistant, and now it’s all gone horribly wrong in one moment.
“namjoon-ah,” says yoongi, dropping his face into his hands. “i think i accidentally invented a boyfriend.”
(or: to assist with his research, yoongi creates jeon jeongguk, the perfect android. and then he accidentally programs jeongguk to fall hopelessly in love with him.)
