Rocky younger than Adrian, even." He shifts on three of his feet. Already, my mind is racing ahead, wondering -- "Doctors told Rocky to ask Grace, is this radiation side effect, question?"

I've thought it through so many times, in the years since I remembered.
‘Hey Rocky, I need to tell you something.’
‘Hey Rocky, you know how you always call us brave? Well…’
‘Hey Rocky so the actual reason I had amnesia when I met you was because I said no when they asked me to save my planet even though I was the only qualified candidate and they forced me to and I said if they sent me I'd kill everyone by sabotaging the mission so Stratt gave me some insane amnesia drug.’
Not exactly a conversation anyone wants to have ever, let alone with their roommate in a ship with no escape. Not something anyone wants to hear from the person they're relying on to save their people, either.

Normal was another word, and one that, in the passing weeks, John had developed a severe distaste for. Whether it was because of the blurred grimaces Arthur could make out on his face, or the way he would try to change the subject, or even the way he’d interject with a small “Arthur,” his friend had made a visible effort to stop saying it, at least concerning either of them. It was up there with expected, and sometimes should.
Normal implied there was only one solution or one way to act in any circumstance.
