When Arachnid orders Wemmbu to betray both General Saparata and King Parrot, oh, and blow up Capital City while he was at it, Wemmbu can’t think much wrong in doing that. A task was a task after all.
All he wanted was Egg. And he was so close in getting his friend back.
Until Flamefrags comes into the picture, forcing him to fight back, and everything Wemmbu thought was is shattered to pieces. Only this time, he doesn’t have the mental energy to pick them back up.

Egg takes a breath. Then another. Carefully, he wipes the red off his sword until it’s a gleaming black again, then checks over the rest of his armour.
Clean. That’s good.
Raising a fist, he knocks lightly on the door of the final base. Last one in the three–hundred block radius around his and Wemmbu's base, after two days and fifteen hours, after seventy-ish bases destroyed, after zero leads found and not a single soul aware of where Wemmbu has been taken.

Wherein Egg is one of the strongest fighters in unstable and Wemmbu is the weird little freak he keeps around him at all times. He's harmless, trash at PvP, but also happens to be Egg's one weak spot.
(or, a role reversal au where the default egg-gets-kidnapped plot gets put on wemmbu instead)

The war's ended, the battleground is a complete mess. (Probably from Wemmbu's orbitals). Wemmbu breathes in a sigh of relief, even though Lettuce escaped, they still won. Though why is Flamefrags trying to kill Jaden?!?!
Wemmbu fights Flame, with them both having low ressourses, it wasn't really going anywhere.
Then his head started to ring.
Or, Wemmbu passed out because of a sickness he chose to ignore, now he's got multiple people taking care of him.

Citizens would call them anomalies. Something unexplainable keeps happening all around the city.
Weird creatures started appearing– and don't get it wrong, hybrids and all sorts of creatures had been around since anybody could remember. Cat hybrids, voidlings, avians, sirens, vampires, anything you can name! But these ‘anomalies’ don't match any of the known creatures. These anomalies are never seen before, its rabid, its wild, it can cause harm anywhere and anytime.
But this isn't a story about daily lives of people living amongst the horrors of City Unstable.
This is a story about the people who the authorities brought the anomalies to.

Wemmbu is tired. He doesn't want to be a weapon anymore, he just wants his best friend back. He's so incredibly tired of being nothing more than a weapon of destruction.
Nothing feels like it'll ever get better. Every day spent in Arachnid's kingdom is a redundant cycle of empty promises for Eggchan's safe return, keeping him strung along like an obeying puppet. Some part of Wemmbu, at some point, begins to give up entirely.
One night, however— Jaden finds Wemmbu, and maybe that's all it takes for things to feel just a little more brighter.

It stung a bit, that his friend had to go to such lengths just to ensure they wouldn't have walked out of the Farlands with nothing. Wemmbu should've been just a bit stronger, he told himself. Just that, so they wouldn't have to struggle with Sharpness, with Jaden, with the Farlands residents, with anyone. If only he'd been more skilled, he would've gotten his hands on the orbitals earlier; Egg wouldn't get shot, he wouldn't have to kill these people, and the two of them wouldn't end up all bloodied and bruised after a fight again.
