Life was good.
At least that's what Boreas was always aiming to make everyone else think about her life. Because what else would you think about a middle aged woman that was a Beekeeper and simultaneously a popular gardener among the vegan community in Portland?
Most of it was bullshit, of course, but she still thought her life was pretty good actually; she lived far enough into the forest so she couldn't be bothered, her business as a gardener and a beekeeper were thriving after a couple of years of nonstop hard working as an active member in the community, and she just bought home a new wind chime to her extensive collection, how could her life not be good?
Except her true nature and past would never be buried long enough for her to live comfortably and without a worry, having this reminded to her after a new detective —and a Grimm detective at that— came to town and started to make a mess with everyone's and their mama's lives.
Guess she had to come out of retirement to save everyone's asses.

Writing for funsies (and my unholy love of Simcoe), writing a more complicated (sometimes nasty) main character and as a way of fixing some of the less than satisfying narrative surrounding Simcoe's redemption/ romance arc which felt clumsy (starting too late, the weird purpose of lola for one episode half way through the last series, and the unnamed wife they bolted on in passing in the epilogue that apparently solved all this problems)Chapters 1-18: Series 1
