“Welcome in!” Xie Lian looked up, and smiled brightly at the customer who walked in.
It was a young man, taller than he was, and handsome, in dark jeans and a red t-shirt. His long, dark hair was pulled into a ponytail, and an eyepatch covered one eye. He was standing a few steps inside of the doorway, looking around the shop like he was searching for something.
“Can I help you?” Xie Lian asked, stepping out from behind the counter.
The young man looked at him, his one visible eye widening as Xie Lian drew near. “I - I’m sorry, I’ll go.” His hand reached for the door.
“It’s okay,” Xie Lian said. He gestured towards the empty room. “There’s nobody else here, so you’re not interrupting anything. Is there something I can help you with?”
The young man hesitated. “I don’t want to be rude.”
Xie Lian laughed. “Why would you be rude?”
“Well, I came in because I smelled something nice, and I thought it must be one of the flowers in here, but…” He blushed a little bit. “I - I think it’s you.”
