The sight of him satisfies a deep greed in his gut— finally, a new and pretty trophy to add to his hoard. Perhaps he's not a pest, but a plaything. A toy. He takes the human into his clawed hand, small and limp in his grasp. He's warm against his cool scales, and it takes everything in him not to tear the robes off his little human. He looks so soft and pliant like this, gentle lashes pressed against even gentler cheeks.
But he knows to be patient. Knows how best to enjoy the feast before him.
With his human now clutched in his claws, he takes him deeper and deeper into the castle.

Summary
Eight months after Mike Wheeler disappears without a trace, Will Byers is still living in the New York apartment they once shared - sleeping badly, painting through the night, and leaving the lights on in case Mike ever finds his way home.
Then Will begins to notice someone watching him.

Through the intense ringing in his ears, Mike registers footsteps pounding down the hallway. The door slams open and the light is flicked on. Someone crashes to their knees beside Mike, pulling him away from the ground and into their arms. Mike thrashes weakly, chest still hitching with sobs, but it’s more painful this time.
He just has to purge himself of his sins.

At the far edge of the cemetery, beneath a maple shedding red leaves like old blood, the earth above William Byers shifted.
Six feet below, inside a coffin lined in white satin, Will Byers lay with his hands folded over his stomach.
No worms.
No rot.
No sunken cheeks or ruined skin.
The dress Joyce had chosen with shaking hands, the dress he had asked for before the end, covered him in layers of white. Long sleeves. A fitted bodice. A skirt that pooled around his legs like fog. Gothic and delicate, almost bridal, except no one had come to a church for him.
Only a hole in the ground.
Only rain.
Only Mike Wheeler carrying him until his knees gave out.
Will’s chest rose.
The sound did not belong in a coffin.OR- what happens when Will Byers powers resurrect him on the anniversary of being killed by vecna? what happens when the first person he goes to after waking is Mike Wheeler?

It started the night that Will went missing, which was part of the reason that he generally hadn’t bothered to do anything about it until now. It was hard to worry about the small flower petals that came out when he coughed or the tickle in his throat that he had to swallow back because while he was keeping flowers down, Hopper was explaining that Will went missing overnight and they had to tell him everything they knew. The flowers were the least of his concerns.

Summary
Will's rules came from a history of mistreatment. When he had gotten to college, he decided that was no longer going to be his life. He was no longer going to let people walk over him or dictate what his image was. That was his job. He had taken the power back, cultivating an image of perfection. Creating a life around his own pleasure, what he wanted to do without taking into consideration what other people felt about it like he had done his entire childhood.
Or, Will Byers is a college primadonna. With a roster of rotating men to please him and buy him anything he wants, he has no room in his life for someone who brings nothing to the table. Mike Wheeler brings nothing to the table.
Will still makes room in his life for him.

They were standing in the ruins of the place where they'd pressed their bleeding fingers together and sworn to be the best husbands ever, and Mike was holding their wedding vows against his chest and asking Will to get in a van with him and drive across the country and pretend to be married for two weeks.
For a second they were eight again, and Mike was saying we'd never have to go home because we'd already be home.

"What you should do is come spend the summer with me."
The suggestion came in loud, cutting his words short as well as grabbing everyone's attention. Although Lucas had just offered something similar, the words didn't seem to hold the same weight coming from Mike. Will's heart picked up as his eyes landed on the boy, who seemed oblivious to the sudden shift in the air. He was met with this familiar gaze — the one that made him feel like he was the only one in the room —, intense, focused, but also incredibly genuine. The others exchanged looks that Will couldn't quite decipher as Mike kept going.
"I mean I'd love to have you there."Or : After graduation, Will is set to spend a pretty lonely summer as his friends all have plans of their own. That is, until Mike suggests they stick together.

Stopping for a coffee on his way to class was intended to provide only a small amount of comfort, but when he sees a familiar face in the shop, that comfort grows into a feeling he can’t quite name. His stress becomes an afterthought, and he realizes a visit to the café might be the best damn decision he’s ever made.

He doesn't bother to pick it up as his eyes lock on the person who just spoke. It's been three years, but he'd recognize that voice anywhere.
“My name is Mike. Mike Wheeler,”
Mike isn't looking at him. Will would maybe think he hasn't even spotted him yet, but he is very pointedly not looking at him. Will can't tear his eyes away.
That is, until the Professor prompts them to disrobe. And Will quickly finds interest in anything else in the room.

Three years ago, Mike ran away from Hawkins, his friends and family, and from Will. Will moved on. He bundled up all the feelings and packed them away. His life is good now, and he's happy. But then Mike walks back into his life... as a nude model in his figure drawing class, and everything Will thought he had dealt with comes washing back up. Mike wants to be friends again; he wants to fix the way he left things. But can Will and the others forgive him for leaving? Does Will still want Mike in his life, and in what way does he fit?
