    When Holmes came down in the early hours of the morning, the figure of Doctor Watson was silhouetted in the window, so motionless the detective had almost missed him there.
    Watson stood with his right hand in the pocket of his trousers and his left arm raised, forearm pressed against the windowpane and supporting his forehead. His fist was tightly balled and his eyes were closed.

    Returning from his respectable medical practice, Dr. Watson runs afoul of a senseless act of violence. There's a price to be paid for doing the right thing. He might have always known that - but it is still nice to have the resulting pieces picked up.
