Whether his brother had descended from heaven or crawled out of hell, neither had managed to cage him. Itachi existed somewhere between absolutes, in the narrow spaces separating black from white, virtue from sin, salvation from damnation. He had been Sasuke’s first God and first Devil, a figure so impossibly distant that ordinary morality was unable to cling to him, yet so close that his mere proximity corroded his mind every time they touched. Like a star glimpsed through smoke, he remained visible even when obscured, drawing the eye despite every effort to look away.

Summary
Crosshair serves closely under Admiral Rampart, close enough to notice the way the Admiral’s attention lingers. Close enough to feel the shift in the air when they’re alone. Duty blurs into something heavier, warmer, and far more complicated.
A single game of Sabacc tips the balance and by the end, Crosshair isn’t sure if he had already lost along the way, or whether the real game is only beginning.

They looked at each other, eyes full of longing despite being in each other's arms. Because it was never enough. Lance needed to be closer, fuller of him, needed him inside as much as he needed to be under Shiro's skin.
"Remind me, please."
It was more of a plea than a request. Lance knew Shiro would take care of him and devour him, consuming and digesting because, like him, Shiro was insatiable.

Summary
During their last battle, Sasuke notices all the little things that don't add up about Itachi. As his brother collapses in front of him, Sasuke tries to process all the contradictions. Itachi is still barely breathing, Zetsu is encouraging him to finish him off, but the strange feeling in his chest says he's missing something. Sasuke decides to save Itachi in order to get answers for all of his questions. But when Itachi is saved with the help of an experimental treatment from Kabuto, he has no intention of telling Sasuke anything. Sasuke sees more and more of his brother peeking through despite the lies and deflections, leaving him unable to separate from Itachi for even a moment. All his feelings bloom based on faith, that complete blind trust that Sasuke used to have as a child that he never lost despite the years of hatred.

Summary
The war was over and the world was healing. Villages and their people have buried and mourned their dead. The fallen have been honored. Though there will never be true peace in a world such as theirs, this was as close as they'd ever gotten. People clung to it like a raft on the ocean, hoping and praying it stayed afloat.
Sasuke drifted through it all like mist. Wandering and wondering, forever restless and unable to find contentment. Unable to live in the village that had condemned his clan to slaughter and unable to find a place to settle outside, the last Uchiha had resigned himself to a gray life chasing purpose where none could be found.
A stormy night and a ghost from the past snaps him out of his fog. Itachi is alive, impossibly here and breathing years after the brothers' final goodbye. Except he doesn't remember Sasuke at all.

Sasuke Uchiha wakes up on Tokyo concrete with no chakra, no weapons, and the growing suspicion that Kaguya's final fuck-you was dimensional exile. Three days of urban warfare later, starving and feral, he comes across his brother only to discover Itachi has been condemned to something worse than death: he's working as a host, pouring drinks for desperate women while drowning in cologne strong enough to qualify as liquefied testosterone. Soon, Sasuke discovers that being dead might be the least of his problems.

The plan was simple. Find Itachi. Kill him.
Instead, Sasuke gets dragged out of a fight he was about to finish, stuck with a brother who interferes without explaining why, an Akatsuki partner who finds the whole situation far too amusing, and a team that definitely did not sign up for any of this.
No one is where they’re supposed to be.
No one is saying what they should.And the more Sasuke pushes for answers, the more it starts to feel like the only thing Itachi is still committed to… is keeping his distance.
