Oh, Reigen mused, eyeing the large hands encircling his wrists.
This couldn’t be happening to him. He was losing control of the situation, and it was only now that Reigen realized he couldn’t remember the last time a client had laid their hands on him.
Distantly, in the back of his mind, he knew the reason.
It was all because of Mob, his sweet and kind disciple, who always intervened when Reigen was being threatened. Stepping between anyone or anything, Mob deemed a threat to Reigen.
Reigen had failed to treasure the protection Mob had offered him so selflessly—too caught up in his own schemes or cons to appreciate everything Mob did for him.
He really had taken advantage of Mob’s kindness, hadn’t he?
With Mob chased off by his lies, Reigen stood no chance against the monster he found at his doorstep.
Or in which an old client of Reigen’s gets revenge during the separation arc.

Summary
Mob has never been good at figuring out the correct words to say. He's better at watching, instead.
He watches as Reigen’s hands flourish like a firework, fan out like a peacock’s spreading its feathers, dart from side to side like a salmon swimming upstream. His words move just as quickly, tumbling out of his mouth like sparks catching dry grass before billowing into a forest fire. He swallows silence easily, turns confused clients into satisfied ones; people leave the office lighter than when they arrived, as if Reigen had taken their problems and folded them neatly into his suit pockets.
Mob knows he isn’t any different from them. Reigen has him in the palm of his hand.
If Reigen is an explosion, a blaze lighting up the sky, then Mob is glad just to be the soot that follows. The ash that settles afterwards, the charr that clings to the path it made long after it’s gone - proof of the flame’s existence in the first place.

“You’re taking their word over mine?” He shoots back, annoyed and tired. His brain remarks that he could just cut again to get rid of the negative feelings swirling around his brain. The razor blade sits on the sink, cold and waiting.
The bathroom lights start flickering at an almost dangerous rate. Normally, it’s Reigen’s job to try and reroute Mob’s powers and teach the young man how to control them properly, but right now he’s too tired and unable to do anything other than provoke them further. “I didn’t say that; I don’t know why you’re misconstruing my words so much right now.” Mob grits out. “I don’t know why you aren’t letting me in.”
“Imagine if I barged into your private bathroom time!”
“I’d let you in,” Mob answers without missing a beat. “Shishou, you’ve seen me at my worst; why wouldn’t I let you in?”
