POST 8x15
This is fine, this can be a celebration of life, not a depressive mourning. Death may be final, but the life and memory of Captain Bobby Nash will never die.
or the fic where Bobby dies and Buddie goes canon.

Summary
He left his son to go to war, to come back a worse person for his son. He made his son’s mother leave because he couldn’t be a good enough husband. His parents fought him for Christopher because he wasn’t a stable enough person. He wasn’t around, he was just like his own father. He continued the tradition, continued the trauma of being an absent father to provide for his family.

Summary
Another round of drinks get delivered, and Eddie takes no time popping the cool liquid down his throat. Memories of Buck sitting in the engine, memories of Buck sitting on his couch, memories of Buck drunk and hazy in a dimly lit bar like this one.
He needs to get a grip. Buck is 800 miles away. He’s not here. He can’t be here. Eddie left him and his puppy dog eyes behind.
or - Eddie gets drunk with the new El Paso team, and talks way too much about Buck.

Summary
He swallows, the hand making it hard, he's terrified. He can barely breathe, he's taking slow, shallow breaths. The man up against the wall can only see the piercing, cold blue eyes of his assailant. He gasps as the man in front of him grips tighter, and his breath becomes almost nonexistent.

Based on my favorite song I've had since a child. It's called Lips of an Angel by Hinder. You should probably listen to it before you read this. It'll make more sense.

Summary
You're the guy who showed up," Eddie said firmly. "The guy who said yes when he needed someone. That's what matters, Buck. The rest? We'll figure it out. All of us."
From the living room came the sound of Chris's voice, patient and warm, explaining something about pigeons. Theo's small laugh—tentative, fragile, but real—drifted back to them.
"Chris is so good with him," Buck said.
"Chris learned from the best." Eddie's hand found Buck's shoulder, squeezing. "You've been showing him how to be patient and kind and present for eight years. Now he gets to pay it forward."
Buck nodded, not trusting his voice. Eddie's hand was still on his shoulder, warm and steady, and Buck let himself lean into that certainty. Into the promise of *we* instead of *I*.
Or Buck fosters Theo and he and Eddie basically co parent together and discover how in love they are.
Mostly canon except Bobby never died as it's my story so I can make that happenBookmarked by dean_needs_cas

Summary
If Buck thought the aftermath of the lawsuit was bad, it had nothing – absolutely nothing – on the Winchesters barreling into his life, finding out the apocalypse was imminent, that his own death was a seal, and a demon hitting on him.
He really should have realized that when an angel shows up to stop you from throwing yourself off a bridge, that it isn’t always a good thing.
----
After the lawsuit, Buck is back at work, hoping to reconcile. Only...it doesn't go as planned. His family hates him and after a lifetime of rejection it's one hit too many. Buck plans his goodbye…only a certain angel stops him, 'borrows' him, hands him the Winchester-patented starter's guide to hunting manual, and gives him purpose again. Too bad that angel was so busy saving Buck, they forgot about the goodbye letters left in the loft.
---
Buck rubbed at the bridge of his nose tiredly. "I'm pretty sure this is kidnapping."Dean scoffed. Sam shot him a look. "Think of it as adult babysitting."
Gabriel waggled a bottle of top shelf bourbon from his perch on the TV stand. "With booze!"
Right. Buck eyed his new...friend, warily. "Okay, kidnapping adjacent."

Summary
And that should be it - if there’s no girlfriend, then there’s no need to even think about getting married again. Or there shouldn’t be a need. Somehow there still is. Somehow Eddie finds himself standing in his kitchen, hands gripping the countertop behind his back looking across the room into eyes he could pick from a line up not even trying to stop the words coming from his mouth.
