Until he's wrenched back in Diluc's direction by a hand around his wrist, so forcefully he nearly loses his balance. Not that he wasn't expecting it, because he's already smirking with self satisfaction when Diluc gives him a hard look. One that feels just on the edge of something dangerous, so much so that Kaeya has to suppress a shiver.

Why, when it came to Diluc, did he have to lose all sense of reason? It was something he avoided thinking about at all costs despite pleading for an answer, because thinking about Diluc only spelled heartache and anger and pain. He felt like a petulant child whenever he thought about how unfair it was, and a bitter voice inside him would always reply, not a damn thing in this world cares about fairness.
