Zugzwang (from German 'compulsion to move'; pronounced [ˈtsuːktsvaŋ]) is a situation found in chess and other turn-based games wherein one player is put at a disadvantage because of their obligation to make a move.
Centuries after their battle atop Mt Coronet, Rei confronts Volo in a nondescript forest, somewhere on Pasio. But the answers he's seeking aren't so easily given.

So, needless to say, the crew of the Ares IV is incredibly surprised when they land on Mars to find a scruffy, malnourished, mentally unbalanced, but still-alive astronaut waiting for them.
These are the stories of Mark's long journey home and the lives of the people he touches along the way. (Mostly told from not-Mark POVs.)

They’ll be heading home to the village, soon, to compare notes on the Fieldlands Beautifly population with those she and Rei had observed and caught in Hoenn. But, ah—what a waste of a windy day, she thinks. She’d rather stay a little longer, watch the fields of long grass become sea waves, the thick patches of wildflowers bend and sway like dancers. And then, like fire kindling ignited by a breath, an idea.
“Let’s run down the hill,” she says, twining her arm with Rei’s.
