“Quero te beijar,” Gabriel accidentally blurts out in a debrief, eyes still hooked to Nico’s face.
The entire room shuts up and looks at him, swallowing him whole with confused, contemplative gazes. Nico, catching Gabriel’s stare and watching him blush, asks, “What?”
“Uh,” Gabriel says. He clears his throat, awkward and embarrassed. “Sorry, I. Something in my throat. Had to, uh, clear it.” He coughs again, louder, for emphasis. “Sorry.”

Summary
What Max considers to be only a week's worth of conversation slowly turns to a month's worth, and then later, makes him glued to his phone. He messages this Joseph constantly, working hard to listen to the dangerously flirty sentences and try to match them with his own Dutch, crooked pick-up lines that he makes up as each conversation goes.
One night, Joseph accidentally sends him a voice message, voice low and hoarse, grumbling a warm, "tesoro, ti amo-" before being choked off. Max thinks he sounds eerily familiar. When he wakes up in the morning and checks the chat to listen again, the message is gone.
or Max gets Duolingo to learn Italian to try and impress Daniel, friending someone who helps him learn Italian flirting. This someone is... familiar.
