He pushed himself up from the table and shuffled over to the front door, stepping down into the genkan. He didn’t bother himself with the peephole and instead just unlocked the door and opened it.
The person on the other side was not someone he was expecting. In fact, Izuku wished he had looked through the peephole. Or maybe didn’t open the door. Hell, he was wondering if he should have ignored his gut and gone out today, but noooo, he just had to listen to the feeling that something good would happen if he stayed home.
Well, having Shigaraki Tomura standing in front of your home was decidedly not a good thing.
Izuku slammed the door shut.
Midoriya Izuku just wants to save people, but the world is against him and he's just tired. But then Shigaraki shows up on his doorstep, becoming something that Izuku didn't know he needed.

Izuku was ten when he first learnt that if he got a lower score that Katsuki, even by one mark, he would be graded fairly, because God forbid quirkless people were smart. He couldn’t possibly get a better score than the best of the best, the only hope for Aldera to get any fame, the person with a perfect quirk and a future top ten hero.
Izuku was eleven when he learnt how to perfect his analysis, because in a world where quirks are all that matters, the only way the quirkless could survive is to blend in and hide themselves away. He was eleven when he already finished middle school content on his own because he was bored and no one to hang out with. He was eleven when he stopped paying attention in class but still got decent grades because as long as he scored less than Katsuki the teachers would mark him fairly and not call him a cheater.
Izuku was fourteen when he found out that he got into UA, and now that he had a quirk, he didn’t need to hide his true talent anymore, but habits are hard to get rid of, so as long as no one finds out faking his scores wouldn’t hurt anyone. Right?
Or: Izuku is smarter than he let's on and Nedzu finds out.

After getting into UA's hero course, Izuku had three goals he was determined to achieve.
1- use his quirk to become the best hero he could be and help everyone, no matter who they were
2- keep the exact nature of his quirk a secret (and make sure his best friend kept it secret as well)
3- make sure no one found out about his mum until he'd achieved his first goal, especially his teachersAfter his quirk is revealed at the USJ when the League of Villains attacked, Izuku thought that UA would turn into another Aldera where he would only have Kachan and his ghost friends on his side. To his shock, this didn't end up being the case but now Izuku faces an entirely unforeseen problem. With friends and teachers slowly breaking down his walls, Izuku finds himself fighting to try and keep his teachers from growing more suspicious about his home life and past while dealing with his over protective best friend, the pressure of the looming Sports Festival, and the very real possibility that he might just end up failing that third goal.
Also, what the hell is One For All and why are the seven ghosts haunting All Might so worried about Izuku finding out about it?

One day, he managed to escape from Katsuki, and hearing the explosions, he knew he was in for a major beating later on. However, he made to find refuge in a bookstore. Libraries and bookstores were always a safe haven, even for someone like him.
As he explored, he felt himself drawn to a large one with a dark cover with an emerald gem and when he touched it, he felt something deep inside of him unlock ever so quietly.
